Re: When will the Fat bike fad die?

i think Fatbike business has almost started outside the US. Here in Europe more and more major sellers are adding Fatbike options and reducing prices. (You can't yet get one of those below 800$) Although the tires would make a little more resistance, the fact they are usually made solid forks, could...

Re: Color LCD Multifunction Ammeter Speedometer (How to)

I dunno--I can't access the linked pages, so unless you put the info in the thread I cna't help you. White wire go to any hall wire and white & blue wire (the one at the right) to the phase (it has a resistor solderer) Would be better connecting hall or phase wire? You can choose one of them to con...

Re: For ES not facebook group users (DIY 48V pack)

Very nice job. Spot welder no longer available? Dan It looks that is gone, but there are other sellers on ebay or Aliexpress that sells exactly the same spot welder. Don't pay more than 140$ for that junk Nice build! I wouldn't recommend silicone for two reasons. 1. Silicone draws water to it from ...

Re: For ES not facebook group users (DIY 48V pack)

Hi Damian, I'm also waiting on some LG cells from Tumich and have a few questions with your build: Where did you get / build the capacity meter ? Where did you get the shrink tubing from ? What kinds of problems did you run into when spot-welding etc. ? Any chance also of a closeup of how you route...

Re: For ES not facebook group users (DIY 48V pack)

good video - thanks for sharing. ...When you are soldering you need to get more heat into the job - looks like your soldered wires may be 'dry-jointed' - which can be problematic. The solder wants to be in a completely liquid state - then cool and solidify in one mass. Completely agree with You, bu...

Re: For ES not facebook group users (DIY 48V pack)

Nicely done .. the bus bars seem a bit excessive as well as the extra hot glue ( the weight adds up !!!.. and word of caution, hot glue softens up if/when the cells get hot .. and it can run and settle with gravity lol.. ) but that looks like a solid pack. 8) details on the spot welder ? Thank You,...

For ES not facebook group users (DIY 48V pack)

I've just finished a 48V 18650 13s15p cells battery pack from tumich rejected Bosch packs, I'm use to share things on the ES Facebook group (because is quickier and easier for me to answer and make questions) I've couldn't done the Job without tons of coffee and hours of reading this awesome forum, ...

LG cells are really as good as promised, despite the very little information available, I've tested them and pretty sure they are 2850mah as rated. Under 0.5C not voltage sag appreciable. This is my report and pack made with those cells. Thank You tumich! You will be legend.

Re: Color LCD Multifunction Ammeter Speedometer (How to)

Phase? I doubt you'd wanna do that--you'd be putting more than pack voltage on it that way (because of voltage spikes), and I expect it can't handle that. Maybe you could hook it up to a hall signal? Where did you get it? Did you try asking them? Or searching for it on the web, based on any writing...

Color LCD Multifunction Ammeter Speedometer (How to)

I have this awesome display. and I have a couple of questions 1- left, right and headlight lamp indicators has only one wire each one to connect to each light. So if I want to connect, for example, the headlight indicator on the screen I only have the blue wire to connect. So where I should connect ...

Re: Can I join 2 bottle batteries into 1?

There would be no differences in performance, You can make one pack wrapped and with one BMS and connector. Or having the two separated packs joined in one connector to the charger and to the controller

EU market You mean made in EU? because You can buy a battery pack around the world, most important sellers send to EU. Even is easier to buy chinese pack from EU than from USA

Re: Can I join 2 bottle batteries into 1?

At first when I read the title I hoped You did not imagine that inside a battery bottle there was something like a juice.. just kidding :). Yes You could combine that packs into one provided they are exactly the same brand and capacity cells. If You won't spot weld, You will have to solder thick wir...

When You say that the leds are off, are you referring to Charger leds?
Have you tested to charge the battery directly without bms?

Re: Strangest noise ever heard on a 9C hub

I think I get the right combination, almost no matching colors.. But with 3 speed switch I get that amps values at full throttle no load: position 1 (50%): 0.70A position 2 (100%): 0.89A position 3 (120%): 1.30A The cracking noise is gone, there are a little sound I guess thats just normal. So I thi...

Update: I have this "controller and motor tester": According to this, I have a 120º motor and there are 3 correct hall wires configuration. Is this possible? I will meter amps right now.

Strangest noise ever heard on a 9C hub

I will try to sum this.. - New purchased 9c front hub motor. - 48V 35A greentime controller. - Phase wires only let the motor work with matching colors, so no problem there. - Hall conector match in color and connector, I have not yet tested hall motor wires different combination. - When I make spin...

Re: 9C Hub motor wires side / direction

Can I exchange phase wires each other with no danger of damage anything? Wrong combinations can damage the controller FET's if pushed too hard. The safe way to test (try) different combinations is to be gentle with throttle until you're certain of good combination. And/or, either use a fuse or powe...

Re: BRAND NEW CELLS 18650 LG/SAMSUNG/PANASONIC 11Ah/36V - 10

I tested an LG pack (4P 10S) today: Discharge 15A constant (about 500W) The battery returned 10.9 Ah (stop at 2.8V per cell) At the end, the battery was at 60 ° C ... I think that we must not exceed 15A continuous discharge for 4P This battery is excellent for the price !! Thank You very much for t...

When connecting phase wires and hall conectors all with their matching color, the wheel rotation front direction let the motor wires being at the right side of the bike. I've seen that most of the Hub motors have the wires at the left side of the bike if i'...
