Re: Samsung 21700, 3Ah , 30A discharge.

I will try to chase some of these up from my man in Samsung, check availability and price. I honestly didn't think folks would be all that interested in these as the capacity is only 3Ah in a 21700 cell, but I stand corrected :) No idea about pricing yet, but I guess they will not be overly expensi...

I feel you there it's harsh for us students to support projects!

I'd gladly help out though, since I was planning to offer at least to pay for shipping (I'm in France :P) I send you a PM.

Re: Cheapest Active Cell Balancer Project

Hi, Just checked your Hackaday page, good work keep it up! I receive a batch of new cells on Monday, can't really wait to try it out on them. Edit : just forgot, since you don't want to sell a lot of them I assume that you will sell them not as a company but as a private person; hence your sa...

Re: NEW Sanyo NCR20700B 4250mah

It is actually good too for compact packs just expensive. Discharge curve is really nice, voltage doesn't sag much up to 20A but temp is going up quite fast past 15A. Still it can deliver the punch and bring more than 3500mAh, that's impressive. I never get interested in the Wh/kg debate because you...

Re: A way to fly with A123 prismatic cell batteries?

The airline standard is 4x packs under 100Wh allowed per passenger. That includes (for the very strict companies) replacement batteries for cameras and / or phones. So if you were to have for instance a reflex + a gopro with some supp batteries, that's minus your 4x allowed stock. That's less of an ...

Re: Cheapest Active Cell Balancer Project

Hi, that's great thank you! ;)

OK so basically the balancer splits equally in 2 based on charger voltage input? That's good feature too!

Two more questions :
- how could we help you?
- how is it plugged? Is it like - charger - > balancer-> batteries or charger - > batteries - > balancer?

Re: Cheapest Active Cell Balancer Project

Hi :) Interesting design ! Do you know what the maximum current will be ? Can it set a max voltage per cell ? I want to make a DIY charging dock for 4x 8S1P 18650 batteries with integrated "bms" for charging. Plug and forget, unplug once full. I see that you use 14S recycled pack so it must be worki...

Thank you for the advice but it is listed for 6S max, I need 8S :/

Actually I need more of a PSU type charger because I'm making my own charging dock with integrated BMS.

Advice on a simple and fast 8S charger

Hi guys, long time no see ! :D I'm looking for a good charger capable to quick charge a pack (33.6V / 6Ah) made of 8S4P li-ions. Cells charging specs are standard 750mAh, quick charge 4amps max. I know the Cycle satiator has been out for years rocking it but I look for something more affordable and ...

Re: AC Induction outrunners?

MO2O5LlO86c It's been done. It works. Tricky to get a lightweight rotor setup and not have lots of slip losses. This! That's what made me think about AC motors. IMHO this guy has already done a nice job with his mods yet he keeps saying (he posted on a forum I don't find the thread) that it is very...

AC Induction outrunners?

Hi guys :D I've been wondering lately why there is no tiny AC outrunners available. Though the efficiency drops a bit compared to DC, you can easily feed more power through them and get away with the heat (you're limited only by the copper tolerance). A downside is, it really may be a hot pot compar...

If you can cut down costs and maybe build a 150V 200A you'd walk straight into e-bike and e-scooter (big model) territory. Tha'd be huge plus.

there is also a big demand for 75V 300A VESC based controller!

Re: yet another solderless DIY battery pack via NIB's

I think I've posted about it before but why not use copper strips or wires glued on isolated nibs (ex: nibs enrobed with slim silicon sleeves or a rigid high temp polymer)? Main source of heat and current limit with no solder joints is how much of current goes through the magnets or how close the wa...

Well I think the GT is very sleek... Now for 2000$ including shipping and considering I'd build a board instead of skates .. I'd make a crazy setup for myself and I doubt it would be less effective than production boards. Original too at this price point. Man O'War from Jellyboard as base, carbon fi...
