Re: Custom RV120 for ebike use: group order Rv120-ES edition

The Adaptto was tuned in two Stages and i ended up quite close to wheazels trimning in the end. What would be a recommended controller for the rv120? Kelly controller worked similar to the adaptto.

Re: Custom RV120 for ebike use: group order Rv120-ES edition

I just finished a build with rv120 PRO and my results are not up to specs. Does anyone have really good results from this motor in a completed build? Looking at the motor spreadsheet the data from John in cr shows good performance, which controller was used in this testing? I ask because i tried bot...

Re: Q100 mid drive

1000km update: controller gave up. I opened it and found water inside, it was clear from the gasket that pressure was not enough on rear end. The screws holding the endplates are absurdly short so it's quite natural. I would recommend for all to store controller away from water or to waterproof it b...

Re: New Kelly FOC controller series

I received my kls7230 today, it is huge! One must hope for some good power coming out of that box.. Simple question: how advanced is the hall auto identify? does it do all the work finding hall order, angle and phase order just by running the test or do you need to do some trials or settings yoursel...

Guide: fixing deadband of Wuxing hall throttle

Hello, thought i'd give something back to thank all who have helped me by their posts. :D I use a half twist throttle from Wuxing, they seem to be pretty common since they are cheap but the throttle response on my setup is sluggish to say the least, 20% of the twist of the throttle does nothing. In ...

Re: New Kelly FOC controller series

@fany: i think you can confirm how the phase current is controlled at low speed and full throttle? What phase amps will the controller output from zero rpm? If we take KLS7230S as example, will it give 300A at 0 rpm? If not then there must exist a limit curve of phase current vs rpm. This should be ...

Re: New Kelly FOC controller series

I'd love to see the actual output from the controller at low RPM, it would define where these Kellys are on the performance range. There's too much anecdotal proof on ES.. @shadow: What kind of build are you planning? And sorry if i say so but "plenty of torque" does not mean much until dynoed. We a...

Re: New Kelly FOC controller series

A phase reading would be optimal, or even better a plot of current vs rpm at WOT.

But how would it be measured? I fear that just a reading from multimeter will be useless. Can a CA log such readings?

Re: New Kelly FOC controller series

I'm looking at the KLS controllers to go with a Revolt 120 pro motor. I'm doing a moto conversion so for me its a no-go if the torque is not there from the start.. How is start torque with full size wheels, 26"? I don't think it's a proof of torque that a kart can do skids given their small wheel si...

Re: Q100 mid drive

Well this is the motor i have.. works beautifully at the moment. There will be interference issues getting the chain go correctly on my frame as the lower chain side needs to pass the chainstays if you put motor in the frame triangle. I will look at that if i need to but for the moment i am content ...

Re: Q100 mid drive

i'm convinced to go easy on the 128h, i try to stay around 800w by using the gears, if i go more i just switch to lower gear and let the BEMF lower the current for me. works really well.

mid drive is nice!

Re: Q100 mid drive

I use the bike original gears so it's 8speed, 3/32 chain etc.. Nothing special there. motor is 201 rpm version no load but in real life it is higher than that. I stay close (in rpm) to the no load speed by using the gears and limiting resistance so the motor is in it's efficiency zone. so far i have...

Re: Q100 mid drive

I smoked the motor after 50 km of riding.. maybe not so strange with 35A controller to 350w motor. it was really enjoyable up to the smoke though. i bought a 800w q128h to replace the q100 and this has a less stressed feel to it when riding. i took it to work the last couple of days, it can hold 40 ...

Re: Q100 mid drive

Yup, it's a motor drive only, more like an e-moped than ebike :D Hard to motivate to keep the crank just to pretend it's a bike.. It's a bit strange here at ES where some keep their pedals on 10hp fullsuspension machines that could never pedal well. But maybe that's for the legal issues more than an...

Re: Building a triple stator axial flux motor

Hi, This thread is making it possible for me to try a motor build - big thanks! I am thinking of copying straight off but use a single speed hub, gives me 80 mm of motor width to play with instead of around 50. I have only a basic understanding of the mechanisms involved so i have a few questions: I...

Re: Q100 stealth assist fail <solved, was LCD3 not connected

I got the LCD3 this weekend and had a trial run - very satisfied! :D :D :D I could go 40+ km/h in strong headwind, 50+ km/h in tailwind on assist level 3. Level four and five seems too strong for my purpose so i really have all i need from this kit (with some margin). PAS works really well so I remo...

Re: Q100 stealth assist fail

I had a longer bottom bracket lying around, could mount the PAS with that. Did a trial run and it turns out that d8veh is right, output when using the PAS is a LOT higher than with throttle when the display is not connected. It was too powerful for my purpose, turning the bike into a scooter basical...
