Re: Need help with my big wheel scooter project

If you choose that motor then get the 36V500W version. And buy a 48V 1000W controller and a 48V battery that has at least 25A continuous rating. That way it will do around 50km/h and have serious acceleration. Good luck and update this thread with your build progress.

Re: Rotherham CycleBoost cycle loans

Don't loan for a bike. Learn to do repair and maintenance (online / YouTube) and find a very cheap (or free) bicycle in your neighborhood. Try to be frugal as loaning can be a slippery slope. Especially if don't even have enough money for a bicycle.

Re: Ruff Cycles Cafe concept

Thanks, Unfortunately, I was wrong about the hub motor dropout spacing, ever hub motor I have found over 1500w has a 170/175mm drop out spacing, won't be able to spread the dropouts that wide without issues. What issues? How do you think frames are made? They bend the tubes in shape. So if it's a s...

Bla, bla, bla, unsprung mass, bla, bla, bla... Yes you are very clever that you discovered that extra unsprung mass will effect the handling of a vehicle. So don't order a Frey CC or don't order the bike rack for the swing arm and carry your shit in a back pack. If you're such a downhill champion a...

Re: Power Loss on New eMotorcycle

Leave the battery pack charging for a few hours longer then you think is needed. It might be that the pack is unbalanced ( not all cells at same voltage). Do this in a safe area as an unknown chinese battery pack that needs balancing could be a fire hazard. Measure the final voltage of the battery p...

Been wating to build a 3000w Ruff cycles Basman frame but all their rear dop outs are only 135mm would have to go mid drive :(
If it's a steel frame you can widen the dropouts.

Re: Front Hub Motor for Rickshaw

I hope your rickshaw has a chain drive and multiple gears? If so it would be much better to try and build a mid drive set up. That way the motor will help in all the gears and you'll have much stronger assist. Also that way the rear wheels will be motorized that have much more grip and most of the w...

Hi all I have news for most ebikers. Is your battery tired old, or at a low capacity stage? Don't worry. I have some solution that could fit some. (similar to some marketing slogan) Aging battery is normal dont worry, good cells keep a lot of energy for ages more that 10years! But very used cells ne...

EM3EV from China is owned and led by an Englishman. They have a very good reputation in building battery packs and apparently fuse all packs on cell level. They offer a 72V pack with a 80A continuous BMS that would allow you to extract all the power the Cyclone motor can handle: https://em3ev.com/sh...

I'm not a boat person but it seems that the speed of a boat is mostly determined by the amount of water it has to displace and the shape of the hull. There are many YouTube video's where people experiment with electric outboard conversions. So it should be possible to guesstimate how much power you'...

How well did this work out for you? Reason I'm asking is I just moved onto a private lake that only allows electric motors. I'd love to put together and electric outboard for next summer!
