At 4K the tempter sensor needs changing or need to put one in if not using the kit to match the one you will be using. That is if you want to motor to last.
Any recommended models of this temperature sensor?

I think you might go very wrong if you try to operate such a thing in regular traffic in Southern California. The law limits you to 28 mph motor assisted. Even if we fudge up to 30 mph, that's not enough to let you flow with traffic. And in So Cal, traffic can get very congested and I'd imagine dri...

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

So I've arranged to take a look at and possibly purchase a used Leafbike motor kit with 4T wind this coming weekend. I will have the opportunity to plug it up to a battery pack and test it. What items and potential problems should I be on the lookout for? I don't plan to use the controller/display t...

Re: Ok, so I crashed again today...Is it time for a trike in the city?

So I am cruising down the sidewalk going to my organic garden. Up ahead of me is a young couple pushing a stroller with their child. They have their backs to me totally unsuspecting. Ahead of them is a man walking, coming toward me. I am not going very fast, maybe 8mph. So I think, I really should ...

Re: KMX Trike Front Suspension

the suspension adds quite a bit of radius to the wheels turning... G. Indeed it does. The fact that you've made your build work as in the picture you've shown AND got the clearances right is impressive. Even with computer modeling, that's not easy to do, because you're dealing with a lot of impreci...

Thank you... greatly appreciated, I think the suspension was a huge part for making this happen. When Adam got in touch with me to test the rear suspension prototype the body was already made and I couldn't install it... otherwise I would've loved to have a full suspension velo-race-mobile-car... m...

i know this post is a bit long in the tooth.. that said, is there a controller you'd recommend for their 1500W motor that supports variable regen (intent is to save on brake wear) and would pair well with a 54v 20ah battery? -robin When money permits, I plan to use this motor with a Phaserunner FOC...

Also if anyone has advice on how to ship this product any help would be greatly appreciated as I know there are some restrictions when it comes to moving Li ion batteries around.
Shipping it internationally will be more difficult than finding a buyer in your country, by far.

I do believe the vehicle was described in the following topic: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=78413&p=1157541 My recommendation is not to sell it, but to finish the velomobile and use it. You will seriously have a very efficient and inexpensive-to-operate vehicle. Add a hood p...

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

I sent a bunch of emails to leafbike to try to convince them to produce a motor with 0.27 or 0.2mm lams, and yeah, that's exactly the kind of motor we need for velomobiles, recumbents etc. I didn't get anywhere over the course of a few months. What would help is if some of you could ask them about ...

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

Unfortunately leaf does NOT offer the lighter 27mm, so you'd have to go with MXUS or 9C and pray they'll provide you at least a 4T winding. Has the efficiency of these caught up with the Leafbike motor yet? What about hysteresis and cogging losses? A few years ago when I researched these motors I r...

I bet it would last longer than a minute That would be great news. I'd only need about 20-25 seconds to accelerate to a 90 mph top speed in such a vehicle with that kind of power on tap, and probably wouldn't want to keep at that speed for very long... Really only one way to find out though. Were m...

I bet you could do it in under a minute if you put 7 kW to it, but you'd probably destroy the battery too.
