Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

There are several opinions about the used display in relation with the open source firmware. Now there is a tiny display on the market, that may have most of the wished features: Matrix display programmable Bluetooth Tiny https://bitbucket.org/eggpower/eggriderv2/wiki/Home Did anyone just try to im...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I did a release for V0.6. I developed a new feature: now assist levels factor are configured on LCD3. We can also choose how many assist levels: 3: assist level 0: number of assist levels: default value: 5. This is the number of available assist levels, max number is 9. 1: assist level factor: this...

Maybe try holding them even longer than 10 seconds? Even the older models should be able to access this menu.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi all, my controller is demaged and I am trying to remove it. Opened the engine and it does not come out. Is it screwed to the right side, behind the chain ring or it is being held by cables ? Does anyone have manual on how to remove this? Attaching pic of the failure. Anyone experienced the same?...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Interesting connector ideas. I love that ebiketech.de website... I remember drooling over the BBS compatible CAv3 he makes... Sooooooo clean. The only thing is the single connectors are kind of pricey. I've been saving a bunch of spare 6 and 8 pin connectors, both male and female, but not near enoug...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Sorry I'm not sure I understand what you are saying about "PSW power shop seems a reference one"? Plenty of options available outside of PSW... They definitely are not the best source for TSDZ2... A decent source for certain parts at a reasonable price, but they are limited in their model types and ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Hi, Understood, thanks for the clarification. I misread the brake part - I thought it stated you needed the 5v for the magnet sensor, but it was the hidden wire sensor - my mistake. Seems all good less the possible pre-installed metal gear, no biggy at all. Glad you got that started... I'm working o...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Ok well fingers crossed I will ride into work tomorrow and see how it goes !! If this works then the only thing I can think of is the walk mode ? Are there any other issues you will be working on ? My friends with TSDZ2 are very lazy and would all like to use their own displays. What would happen i...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

EDIT: Reading more into it (I tunnel visioned in on that quote) it seems it's just the open source code, and it will be available and anyone is free to copy/modify/do what they want with it? Yes and I would like to ask that your firmware will be shared on github as current one is. And it must kept ...

Re: New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

If it's not a torque sensor (which I'm operating like it is since I've felt it) then why would they place the sensor there (was my point in the other post that dude burned me up on haha.) My reasoning that if it was just a PAS why not copy bafang on that too... I obviously am not sure how it works, ...

Re: New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

Lets take a look at the TSDZ2 torque sensor below. it seems to look alot more like the MM28 sensor, and is mounted in practically the same location... Well, sure, if by "look alot more like" you mean "a small circuit board with electronic thingys on it" and if by "mounted in practically the same lo...

Re: New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

Continue to believe in the nonsense that the manufacturers of the motor of lingbei write. But I want to remove noodles from your ears and show how people are being fooled. Above, it is written that the torque sensor can not stand on the axis, but on the clutch spindle. Well, I bothered to disassemb...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Other than your personal preference, is there a reason you so heavily resist ising other displays and seem to really not like this idea? For various reasons, I don't think it can happen unless o lot of resources are used. And I also think, as you said, TSDZ2 can be kind of temporary, we never know ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Yes, it is possible to have a software to configure the firmware and make it work with the limited stock LCD, although I don't like it for my bicycles were I prefer to change the configuration parameters in real time, on the LCD without the need to connect to a computer. I want to be on a long trip...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Please do not rush on my account. I am very happy with the motor as it is now. Thank you very much Eye, it is so nice to be able to put my battery on the charger and not need to monitor the charge voltage. I am so looking forward to trying out the 60-61.5v battery. If you find a way to bump the max...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I would settle for the stock display screens with no additional settings in sight, if we could keep all the customize able settings function in the background, even if they had to be accessed with a programming cable/PC. This is very much the way the Bafang software works, the displays stay the sam...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Yeah.... TS really doesn't want that... Warranty nightmare for them... Let me know about the amp setting, good chance that's locked in now too, the motor profile will fix that, assuming people want full power haha. Yes amp settings do not function. I tried the display first, 2 amps has the same pow...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Yes Eye, I agree that a "customization windows computer interface for idiots" (ala Bafang) would be nice. Switching out displays might be nice too but motor functionality is most important (to me). On a separate note I, and others, noticed that modifying the 2nd and 3rd set of numbers in the data s...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Do we know any young software students amongst us who perhaps we could all chuck a few dollars at, to create an interface program for the less computer literate. Certainly the one that I know of for the Bafang works extremely well. That sounds like a winner right there!!! I've already got the tenta...

Re: New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

Thanks for all the info Eye, this motor sounds like it has loads of potential :) Reliable, 20+ amps, light weight, quiet, and a torque sensor.
