Matthias - nice clean build! Like your simple single enclosure (3d printed it looks like). checking my gearing calculator i see your top speed should be about 17mph: Diameter Motor KV Battery S/V M pully Hub pulley 80 260 6 14 40 Speed= KPH 32.9382144 Speed= MPH 19.84229783 actual speed 16.66753018 ...

Re: Opinion question?

Speed is nice, range is critical IMO. for non metric folks (just us in the US) 30kmh speed is 18mph (pretty damn fast on a board) 30kmh - 18mph 35kmh - 21mph Range 12km(7.5mi)-15km(9.3mi) 20km(12.4mi) I think a minimum range of 10mi is my requirement, or easily swappable batteries. a top speed aroun...

Re: Brushless Motor Dynamometers?

there is some logging in VESC you can look at. Alternatively you can look at eagletree logger. It will give you some of the power and voltage curves, but maybe not exactly what you are looking for. Simplified - i've also run some of the power analyzers (edit: Watt Meters) that show mAh consumed, Wat...

Re: Truck Modification for Enertion Nylon Pulley

Hmm, I consider any skipping of the belt to be a Very Bad Thing so I make sure mine are tight enough to never skip. When I first had my board and was more slack with keeping the belt tensioned (lol), the belt skipping always precipitated a belt failure, since the shock loads from skipping are enoug...

Re: Need ideas for a non-invasive battery mount on eboard!

i like the industrial 3m velcro. Super super strong hold. I also capture a small velcro band (usually used for wire management) under/between the deck and velcro and then up and around the battery as backup hold just in case. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-kPs33sPKzlw/Vb_dcirbVwI/AAAAAAAAlIA/NzR...

I am getting impatient about the appa nd 100 mm wheels i am wonder if i can mod my own big wheels I an thinking of getting this drive gear and belt from evolve and putting it on some 90mm flywheels and fitting it to my Marbel It has 33 teeth Looks like it might be...

Re: Marbel Board! (FINALLY!)

Holding up really well. I will keep an eye out for the axle bending - especially on the drive side where that material was removed. I have seen some wear on the belt and drive wheel from the belt cover rubbing both - shot an email to Misti @ Marbel and she got back to me within two days. I know folk...

Re: Truck Modification for Enertion Nylon Pulley

I'm running a Nylon wheel pulley on my GF's board (9mm wide). It's holding up OK. It does click/skip more than an aluminum. For her lighter weight and top speed of around 8mph (not kidding - she likes to go SLOW) - it works. For me - i would stick with aluminum personally. Less expensive - definitel...

Re: [Help] VESC stopped working..

I'm hesitant to try anything like that, because I can't imagine that something got shook loose on a smooth floor after a while of riding on rough road. Also, What could cause an electrical failure that would brick the chip? Obviously, I would want to avoid that. I also tried with 2 different motors...

Re: Question for a Heavy Rider

As for gearing and speed - i usually target a top speed of 25mph and find that is PLENTY fast enough. I got one board up to 30 (tailwind?) with this gearing and it was STUPID fast - on a drop deck where i could brace FR/RR and set it up exactly how i wanted (GBomb drop brackets + CF Subsonic Deck = ...

Re: Question for a Heavy Rider

RazzyT - seriously i would stick to 15mm if you are doing only one motor. You could add another diagonal drive to the front later when you have $ for the upgrade. You most likely will not be able to fit dual 15mm wide dual rear motors/pully. I barely squeezed the dual 5065 on Paris 195 trucks with 5...

Re: Thoughts on Alien Power Pack

My experience with Alien Power/Bruno was horrendous and i strongly recommend to avoid any/all items they sell. The short short story was an 8s dual motor ESC that *cannot* handle 8s voltage (is not an 8s ESC). Took over a month to get a refund and was extremely unhelpful until i threatened to have C...

Re: [Help] VESC stopped working..

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the DRV error is *usually* hardware failure. You could try resoldering the DRV8302 chip in case it wasn't fully connected... but most likely you need to buy another 8302 chip ($6'ish) and replace it. I had one fail on me and this was the error and fix. HTH - GL!

Re: Loaded Tesseract Lightweight

Thoughts on the flex issue - can you solidly mount the centerline bolt, and oval out the front and back bolt holes in your cover? It would let it move a bit perhaps at the bolt hole when it flexes?

Re: Question for a Heavy Rider

I'm not much less weight than you (about 10 lbs). I ride on the flats easily w/ a smaller single motor (not going to win any drag races accelerating). Buddies Boosted Dual+ actually worked surprisingly well hauling me around (except for mileage). I had a dual 5065 setup (Torque/DIYes 200kv motors) -...

Battery looks fine. Where are you located? Maybe someone local to you can take a look and double check. Definitely post some more pics so we can look at how everything is connected/wired up. Also - what's your battery voltages per cell - either a battery alarm/tester or multi-meter to check each. GL!

Re: Will My Electric Skate Board setup work?

I would go with a lower kv motor - any of the SK3 63mm 190-24xkv should work well. Tacon bigfoot also is a great one i've heard (have 2 waiting to try). torqueboards/DIYes motors, or Enertion R Spec motors also - can't go wrong. why only 6s? what ESC are you going to use? And what gearing - link jus...

Re: Longboard build for a huge dude

the older I get, the more and the longer it seems to hurt when I crash  Ha! So true. I'm a bigger guy as well Diniven. 6'8" 265-275. My best setup was dual VESC and dual 5065 200kv motors. I'm still slowly (glacial speed measured in millennia) building a dual R-Spec setup which will be ridicul...
