There is a video with the bike pictured below in it. I cannot find it. Can someone post a link for me?

Re: Opinions on front wheel hub systems

I have a front hub on my commuter. It os a 350W geared motor that, according to the display, is almost never operated at full power. It works well for my purpose; but I am not, in any way, going to call it a performance e-bike. As was mentioned, I chose a front motor because my commuter was not suit...

Re: Endless-sphere stickers, 2013

How about a slogan like," the lithium powered revolution" In a big way, the motors aren't the revolution, it's the battery. The trouble with that it that it is likely to be misunderstood. Lithium is used to treat bi-polar disorder. It is also the name of a song, not surprisingly, about bi-polar dis...

Re: parajared's solar trike attachment

My panels and charge controller arrived yesterday. However, I fly out for the summer on Monday; so the project is on hold for a few months. Hopefully, during that time, more pictures of how the panels have been attached to trikes will be posted. It is just a matter of getting more, and better, ideas...

Re: parajared's solar trike attachment

Well, I went ahead and ordered some solar stuff (two 140W panels and a charge controller). These will be put on the trike; as such I wanted to keep the width under control. I expect that for long trips I will end up pulling a trailer. Because I work in Kansas and live in Utah, my long term build nee...

Re: parajared's solar trike attachment

Posting on this because I want to be able to find this thread in the future.

Adding Solar to my e-trike is next years winter project. I didn't see what you are using for a controller.

To be clear, you have 9 panels, three sets in series, then wired together parallel. Is that correct?

Re: Streamlined Trike Most Efficient Motor?

I don't know what model of trike you have; but regular operation at 50mph is probably outside of the design parameters for most trikes. I would be most concerned with general handling at those speeds. Yes, I have ridden mine that fast; however, the geometry was clearly being pushed. The steering fel...

Re: Mid drive kit for touring bicyclist

A big concern that I see in going up to Crater Lake is that you are a long way from any place you could have charged it. Range is going to be an issue, That will hold for any reasonable battery size.

Rode to mass. I use my e-bike for general transportation.

I also rode to a store to replace my kettle which had broken the night before.

Re: Commuter Build Review

Other than that, I plan to get some rear racks and panniers I echo the others about a standard bike rack - there's no way that will last. The bolts will shear off if the welds don't break. A trailer just for the battery with an Anderson disconnect would be a lot easier. Just to join in on the conse...

Re: What is best ebike lighting available?

I need to upgrade to those, but I used a $20 808 clone along with these lenses: http://www.amazon.com/MagicShine-Gemini-Lights-Headlight-Includes/dp/B004WLCLQY so the light spreads out into a flat beam which illuminates a full road lane nicely. Anyone know of similar lenses for the larger units? Sa...

Re: Front or Rear Motor Preferences?

But if I had a nice Copenhagen style bike with IGH and belt drive, I'd slap a front hub on it and go another 10,000 miles with no hesitations at all. This is why I went with a front motor (350W geared). on my commuter, I have a NuVinci N360 on the rear, further, it is driven by a gates belt drive a...

Re: Should we stock up before war starts with China?

Not worried this year. Obama would fold up and not get involved the same way he did when Russia invaded and took over part of the Ukraine. Next year may be interesting. I think both trump and Clinton would have enough sense to handle it by attacking China's economy. Trump by emulating Reagan and st...

Re: Anybody else use throttle only?

The way I see it, you are asking two different questions. I use throttle only, as opposed to using a PAS. I just never got around to installing the PAS; further, i remember my daughters experience and want the throttle functionality on the bike. That being said, i always pedal. As the phrase goes, "...

Re: Which e-bike offers the best band for the buck?

First off, you have three threads that all, essentially, ask the same thing. However, to answer your question, most here are likely to tell you that you are going to get the most B/B by assembling your own instead of going with ah pre-built e-bike.

Re: OOPS...I tried to post my E-Bike on a MTB forum

What I find so ironic in the MTB/e-bike debates is that, in many cases, it is the old guys, now on e-bikes, that built the trails in the first place.

Re: Aussie 200 Watt Limit Thread

What we all really need is the price of oil to skyrocket. Then I imagine no more imposing law's will be proposed/passed on cyclists. Cycling infrastructure will dramatically be improved, and maintained. And they might even get rid of the draconian E-Bike laws. We can only dream. Cheers That is not ...

Re: Have you experienced bad vibes from traditional bikers?

If you read bikeforums, the will see a lot of hate. Anywhere else there isn't much. First, most people don't even notice it is an ebike. They just see a bicycle. People who do see the difference generally feel it is a great idea; but then, I commute in a town with regular, steady 25+ mph winds. But ...

Best mid drive for extended, legal power limit, reliability

Having finished my commuter e-bike, pictured below, with a 36V geared hub motor; I am preparing for another project. http://s5.postimg.org/jx87saz3r/IMG_1335.jpg The next plan starts with my trike: http://s5.postimg.org/58ygbsmuv/IMG_20150222_111357.jpg http://s5.postimg.org/dfqg3dcxj/IMG_20150222_1...

Another question about tubeless; is it a mess when you do change the tyre?

I change tyres twice a year. I put the studded ones on in the winter; then I have a pair off summer tyres. What kind of a mess would that be?

:) My money's on conversion kits for the millions and millions of antique pedal-only bikes and trikes ("Poop-Mobiles") out there. As much as it sounds like the obvious solution, I really doubt it will happen. The typical consumer wants something already ready to go and with some type of "it will ac...

I am curious what panels and charge controller he may be using. Not for my Alegro; for my, slowly evolving, solar trike project.
