Re: Paradox Kinetics Hermes

It is sort of a folder.
The rear triangle pivots underneath the top tube with the front wheel removed.
It is a well thought out frame, very light, very nicely finished.
The only drawback is that the top tube is so freakin short it is hard to find a battery that will fit.

Re: Bikee Bike final review

As far as loudness, at least with a Phaserunner, doesn't seem bad at all. Quite the contrary. It's been on my shopping list for quite a while, it is the fact that it's offset to one side that prevented me from getting it already. I don't believe an engineer with a background in electrical motors can...

Paradox Kinetics Hermes

Here is a little bike i put together. I can only compare the Hermes with a BBSHD which i have on my daily commuter though that is a 72V setup and this is only 48V. The Hermes, to my eyes, is the best looking peice of kit out there. It seems to me very well thought out for its intended use. It has an...

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

This is what i have about the voltage and controller placement and reduction options: "We also have a 2nd stage 219H chain version, and you can try to mount in front of the bottom bracket or within triangular frame, the Controller takes 30V-60V batteries, max 65A input and it is mounted between the ...

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

A little more info i received from Jon Chan of GNG on the new X1: "Dear Victor, It is real and please look at some of our testing motor photos. Though it is not perfect yet as in the photo.(the black eproxy is for heat dissipation) we will fill up the motor with clear eproxy in the final version, wh...

Re: BBSHD + Grin Phaserunner (52V okay, 72V problem)

Thank you Alan. My next step was to add field weakening to increase the speed, but what bothers me is that before taking the motor apart i had zero amps of f.w. and it did run faster. I am not sure if there is some mixup due to the fact that i started using the new PR configuration utility instead o...

Re: BBSHD + Grin Phaserunner (52V okay, 72V problem)

Yes, i did set the Phaserunner to start and run in sensored mode. No more stuttering. Instead i met with some problem that i cannot get my head around. I opened the motor to grease it and after putting it back together it seems like there is a speed limiting although i haven't touched anything in CA...

Re: Around the world on a solar ebike

When I was 11 years old, my parents gave me a copy of the Guinness Book of World Records. It was a cheaply printed mass-market paperback and I kept thumbing through that volume until it fell apart. The world’s oldest human, the jump rope endurance record, the man who ate an entire bicycle. The more...

Re: Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

I would like to thank Aerial, Reinhard, Twist and Stinky for actually posting some real world crap. And anyone else if i forgot to mention. Everybody promises to do so "soon" and nobody does. I guess they are so happy with the results when they hit the jackpot that they forget. It is understandable....

Re: BBSHD + Grin Phaserunner (52V okay, 72V problem)

Andrebandre, that's a CA3 setting. Thank you RollerBoy! I did increase the minimum throttle out to where it barely spins the wheel in order to keep the motor engaged all the time but i didn't dare messing with anything else. The only problem i have now and then with throttle applied (cruising) is s...

Re: Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

It did come with a PAS harness. The Temp wires and connectors were wrapped toghether with the PAS so i removed them and connected to the CA but i don't think my BBSHD has a thermistor as i get nothing on the display.

And here is the original controller with a 6 pin connector and 5 wires hall sensors but no purple wire (i presume the 6th spot in the connector).
I feel cheated!

Re: Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

The phaserunner has a 5 pin JST for the halls and the BBSHD has a 6 pin plug for halls, did you switch the phaserunner to 6 pin and just not use the purple wire? the plug fits? I have seen info that the purple wire when used with pin 1 (red?) is a 10k thermistor in the bbshd motor. Not sure where t...

Re: BBSHD + Grin Phaserunner (52V okay, 72V problem)

I have my Phase runner running on 21s Lipo (88v). Phase current is set to 96a Max current continuous is 46a Flux weakening set to 32 amps Ramp is 12v/sec Rad set to 1.5 Min throttle output is set. 01v above minimum to just get the motor to barely spin while coasting. Current draw not moving is abou...

Re: Ultimate BBSHD Grin Phase Runner FOC 3000W

What a world of difference in speed and power higher voltage/curent does. I had a blast this morning during a few runs after managing to mount everything on the bike. Although i am limited by the battery BMS to 40 amps continuous, i still can reach 40MPH in first gear with 30 amps of field weakening...

Re: Ultimate BBSHD Grin Phase Runner FOC 3000W

Changing the system voltage, if that's what you did, rescales almost every variable in the controller and completely undoes all the tuning that has been done. If you return to the previous system voltage setting things may return to a working state. Good luck. Thank you Alan, i have noticed that bu...

Re: Ultimate BBSHD Grin Phase Runner FOC 3000W

Well i was able to redo the autotuning and again everything seems to work ok. Of course not without some 1-6 led flashes on the controller and the yellow dot award VdcHighFLDBK on the PR Suite. But at least the throttle works, the motor is spinning so the Canadian Mist must've helped at least partia...

Re: Ultimate BBSHD Grin Phase Runner FOC 3000W

Well i reflashed the default parameters XML file and was able to get things going, had to revers the rotation and everything workd fine. Re: Ultimate BBSHD Grin Phase Runner FOC 3000W

I thought i'd better leave alone before i get too deep into meesing things up so i put back the original controller in order to verify everything still works as before. After reading some more i decided to replace the BBSHD with an older BBSO2 i had as a spare and keep the former on my desk and mess...
