we have a solution man, should have a beta test ready for you soon!

goes with the hubsinks now you can ride longer brake fade is a real problem, same as me and matt

cheers!
haha isn't that the ultimate goal!
you're right thought i have barely thought about cooling since ff and hubsinks, i wear out way before the bike does now lol

Ebike Hub Motor overheating cooling solution - HUBSINK OFFICIAL THREAD

Hey guys! With over a year of Real Life™, Computational and Wind Tunnel testing and a couple of race wins now under our belts, i figured i should actually declare them out of BETA testing and make a sales thread for the HubSinks, im super humbled by the help i've received from everyone during the be...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

This photo gets me excited haha, been a long time coming! Really appreciate everything you put into the industry man! Honored to have the sinks in the tunnel!, will be great to see how close they perform in real life to the original thermodynamic modeling! https://endless-sphere.com/forums/download/...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

skethism: When looking at your hubsink design I was wondering why you made the base so thick and the fins so thick? Could you not have used less material and made them lighter and a little thinner? I know thickness does matter somewhat for shedding of the heat and acting as a buffer so maybe you de...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

The showdown will commence shortly, Forced air vs Statorade + hub sinks. Can the Statorade + Hub sinks even come close to the best modified forced air cooled hub motor known on the forum, which is proven not to overheat under most conditions? Looking forward to hearing how it goes! keep us updated ...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

Yeah all those factors do matter. You know what is funny Justin named this thread the "definitive tests" . to be fair i did publish the exact stats for how much heat energy (not motor power, that depends on what % efficiency your motor is operating at, 10KW input at 90% efficiency is around 1000W o...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

Posted on Facebook ES by Sketch Coleman. Yesterday was in the mid 90's and while riding in the late AM my mxus 3t v2 3k motor was in the high 70°c instead of the low to mid 60°c I'd previously seen (ferrofluid is installed and high regen always active.) Installed my 2nd hubsink set on it, (heat was...

Re: Ferrotec + hubsink + protective paint + black paint = WO

Great feedback on the sinks guys! its an honor to have you running them DrBass haha, i personally felt like i was getting a longer range and more power output from the same amount of energy use while running them as well, but haven't explored testing enough yet to give a totally objective result, th...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

But I have also another idea: Some sort of shovels on the holes of the side cover. This way, the sidecover would function as a big fan as it "shovels" the air inside through itself like a big fan  If this isn´t a good idea then I just dont know what to say anymore.. When I think about it t...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

I can see sketchism not liking it because he is selling the hubsinks, but he is actually being fair about the discussion considering he has personal stake in the business. Although he doesn't do a simple test of showing me the external magnet ring temperature while the bike is in motion. I still wo...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

Heat sinks are a waste unless you are trying to cool the motor faster while stopped for long periods of time. They will help in that instance as the hub does get really hot even without FF when stopped. When moving, they won't do much. You can test it for yourself by simply just touching the motor ...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

Just installed a set of hubsinks on a QS205 pushing 10kw on my Qulbix Q76R. Went for a few fangs around the block, hotest i could get the bike 80-85 degc. Its not the same hot conditions as the last test but i do think it doesnt get anywhere near as hot. Just gave my bike an absolute hiding. Now ru...

Time to check the cells after 1 year and 150+ hard cycles (26S2P at 180Apeaks) always charged to 4.1 and taken down to 3.6 at most although usually 3.7 or higher, with 32Ah i rarely run it low so the 80% -/- DOD is doing them well Spent the morning checking cell balance and Internal Resistance for m...

I decided I'm not going to try out the FF and just modify my new motor for air cooling. Certainly eager to see your progress, maybe do a thread for it so we can follow easily Personally i have found the FF + Sinks to be super effective (obviously i am biased but that is from months of hands-on expe...

Re: Make a watercooled high kw motor and I'll buy it !

skethism, I agree with that if the motor is not spinning and the bike is stopped the hub sinks will work very well. The motor will also get very hot like that when not riding. What I have found is that if I am riding at say 20-25MPH, the hub shell without any heatsinks will be lukewarm / cool to th...

Jestronix: Can you do me a favor. I'm trying to determine how well oil cooled motors transfer the heat to the exterior of the motor. What I have found when using internal fans to circulate the air inside my MXUS is that once the hub gets hot when stopped, if I drive for just 30 seconds the entire h...

Re: Make a watercooled high kw motor and I'll buy it !

I would love to try FF + hubsinks but I worry I won't be happy with it and then I have a motor full of FF fluid and now I can't convert over to air. I am not sure if you can get all of that out of the motor and it will make dirt stick inside. i have to be very careful throwing guarantees around but...
