Re: Is Stealth B-52 Bomber worth the $11,000 sticker price?

its a lot of money but they are great bikes i think it comes down to personal preference, i would much rather build my own bike, on a Raptor or FUTUR frame, with around 30AH of battery, a MXUS or QS205 with FF and Hubsinks, sabvoton 96150 & Ca3 or Addapto controller, but that's because i also enjoy ...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

Hey guys! Every single pre order is now shipped out and on the way, they are now officially in stock as well as dealer stock going out at the moment great to see the guys feedback who have already fitted them! Emmet Quokka (good to hear its going well so far but get the FF in there for a different w...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

Initially we were removing the paint with a dremel wheel and if you feel it necessary to do so feel free, i have on my personal bike, but most of the Beta Testers have seen very similar results with the paint still in place just cleaned with acetone or alcohol before application of the paste and Hub...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

OK, I have the Ferro-Fluid, fins, and the fins came with a small tube to thermal paste. I'm sure the amount is adequate, and the brand is good. however, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about the top-three thermal pastes to buy (when purchasing from North America, the paste I now have was su...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

This is really impressive Sketch, I have visions of an 8kw H4080 for my next build. looking forward to it! also good to know that 2 sets of hub sinks fit in the MXUS, I might make that my standard motor as the Cromotor is overkill for the power level I prefer :) . you'll probably find you'll handle...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

Went for a Hillclimb today before and after putting the Hubsinks on one of my bikes for a real world reference :) if you're just bored theres some wallabys, a snake and a wheelie in there somewhere too haha With HubSinks installed sees a temp of 91C at the point the stock motor hit thermal cutoff at...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

Hubsink beta is in :) ... but are they too thin? Should I buy a second set ? As u can see I can fit two sets on the MXUS :) the MXUS is one of the only motors that can fit 2 between the spoke flanges but during testing we found 1 set was 75% as efficient as 2 due to the higher delta T once the sing...

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor - V1 V2 V3

I thought the price of the QS motor was kind of high. I was trying to understand what you were meaning by Hubsinks, since a few times it was capitalized, thought it was a member of ES. But you are just putting mini heat sinks on the hub. haha damn here i was thinking i had been already been pretty ...

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor - V1 V2 V3

Recent trials with the hubsink and mxus are yielding 16kw before sketch sheared the magnets off two of my motors. We are in for interesting times. haha to be fair they had already had a hard life, and when they let go it wasn't exactly rolling the power on cruising it was hard rock/cliff climbing a...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

So haven't heard any other news about hubsinks. I think sketch will be sending mine soon. How's everyone else's testing going? I'm trying not to hijack this thread too much and i'll be making an official one for the Hubsinks shortly with all the feedback from the first round of testers, but the fin...

Re: heat

i would really like to see some serious testing to find an actual limit there, i am thinking 5-6Kw peaks from such a small weight will be an awesome combo, but like any performance mods, i wouldn't do it without being able to keep an eye on your temps properly. done. (old video) It peaks the same ~...

Re: heat

I hope this isn't to obvious but some people might get the wrong impressions from some direction of ideas here especially newer users. I finally have stated pushing my 1kw a bit harder more often (3.5+kw), and the fins are for sure radiating happily. It's cooling quicker, so I can do it again quick...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

Late to the party here but would a 10ml FF do better cooling compared to 5ml in a DD 35mm stator motor? Right now I have 5 and thinking to put more. 6-7ml was the sweet spot for it. more had some % better cooling. but startet with more drag and suffering a bit efficiency i think it depends on the m...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

I really look forward to see people starting to take those small motors all the way up to saturation point with the use of FF and heatsinks. How much peak power and torque can those small and tiny dd hub motors make before saturation sets in? And will this heat sink and FF combo change the way we l...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

I certainly agree with the smaller motors responding extremely well, on a QS they add around 150% surface area but on a thinner one like the Leaf they are adding much more relative to stock. I haven't given the 1500w hub a proper test yet because we've maxed out the shunt modded controller and batte...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

Looks like our best options are Regular ebay silicone heatsink glue/plaster @ 0.67W/m-k (very cheap and feels it lol) For ease of install - 3m Thermal tape 0.2mm @ 2W/m-k AS1802 silicone adhesive @ 2.30 W/m-k (but i cant find it any smaller than enormous 310mm gun tubes) Hy880 Thermal paste with The...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

As far as FF volume goes i generally find 10ml has been the magic number for me with a wider 45/50mm stator and haven't experienced any appreciable real-world drag or increase in freewheel current. Exciting update on the Hubsinks, they're currently in transit to aus ready to send out to beta testers...
