Yes TomTom50, thanks for sharing "How the TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Works". Very interesting. You do plop down these real nuggets occasionally. :)

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Rydon, please test the new version: https://github.com/OpenSource-EBike-firmware/TSDZ2-Smart-EBike/releases/tag/v0.19.0-beta1 Ok, is there any documentation for the menus in version 19? When pedaling backwards, motor power is cut off. Note that the motor resistance is still there. If you know the m...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I improved the pedal cadence calculation as also now there is a variable specific about pedaling forward. LCD3 now shows cadence even when rotating pedals backwards but the motor power is cut every time user pedals backwards. This new code is on master branch but I must plan a new stable version fo...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Has anyone try to use the coaster brake version on a freewheel bike ? I'm planning to buy a hybrid bike with regular derailleur, a Btwin Riverside 120,when my motor is back from repair center. The chain would move backwards ocasionally but that wouldn't be a problem right ? Otherwise is there any w...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Ok, we tested the coaster brake in assist level 0. It had heavy resistance pedaling backward similar to the other assist levels. I do not have the bike in the shop but will have it tomorrow and will run more tests for PWM and torque sensor readings pedaling backward. Let me know if you need me to t...

Hello, i think this picture is from the 6 pins LCD side, not from wheel speed sensor. The picture is for both. The wiring charts and signals are different but the wire colors to pin mappings are the same. Most speed sensor connectors are black like the display connectors. Yours is yellow. If you st...

So, TSDZ2 main gear on the coaster brake does not have a clutch?? I wounder if when rider backpedals to brake, if it is possible the motor to keep rotate a bit on forward... I mean, how fast is the reaction of the rider to brake?? does the original firmware immediately stops the motor and free it??...

Re: Wayne’s Dengfu Carbon Fibre FS 27.5” with Bafang M600 (throttle also)

I got some info on programming the M600. It did not come from Las Vega, but China sales. Apparently, Bafang has moved on from the UART protocol used on the BBSxx and Ultra drives. Like all European mid-drive motor manufacturers, they have now standardized on CAN Bus. It uses a broadcast, multi-node ...

I think the issue is who will be brave enought to try any kind of custom reprogramming. Dengfu does not respond to any of my emails of late so lets say I fried the controller or somehow lost my settings when trying to adjust settings from how they are now, I would be with out use of the drive for w...

I noticed there are CDB adapters, would any 50t CDN work and can the belt be reused?
I believe the Gates goes on a 130BCD spyder. Get one of those for the TSDZ2 and it might just all work with the same belt and cog. If you do it, keep us posted. Looks pretty sweet!

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I'm making progress on my TSDZ2 Trek navigator 400/ Nexus IGH 7 speed project. I had the TSD chainring cut down to 6.25" OD, and had the center cut out of an offset cruiser 44t chainring to 6" ID. All steel. Then had them welded together for a double offset chain ring. The chainline came out to 45....
