Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Alpha 3 is live! Indeed it is! We just installed v0.20.0 alpha 3 on a friends coaster brake handcycle and it works!!! This is truly a turning point for powered handcycles. After celebratory yells and high fives, I took this picture of Jeff with the handcycle we installed it on. It's his bike. . v0....

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Just read the wiki config guide and have some feedback. Some of this is carried over from previous releases. The v20 guide is a good start and now having just read it I have some suggestions and questions. I hope this helps. Questions and suggestions: 0:4 Motor power limit defaults to 0. Does "0" tu...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

good morning, a question for buba & casainho, Has it ever happened to you that the motor suddenly remains on while you are pedaling and continues to turn without ever stopping? Thank you for your wonderful job that with patience and dedication you carry on. Excuse my English Thank you Yes, recently...

Re: Tandem battery mounting?

With the help of the community I have a plan for the motor and chainring ect. Thank you :D. My new question is about mounting the battery. I want to use the same battery I am already have, as I don't need 2 batteries as I can only ride one bike at a time. Sadly the battery is about 1.5cm too long t...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I actually bought the coaster brake motor when ordering the last time… Wow! I didn't expect that! That is awesome news. I know a few riders that will be doing cartwheels (figuratively speaking). :) Hi "coaster brake" caught my eye, never heard the term used except the ancient mechanical sense. How ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I actually bought the coaster brake motor when ordering the last time just for this reason. I also created the double cadence resolution on that motor just so it stops as fast as possible. It is especially easy to setup on that motor. I do not think that any commercial product in the world is using...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Good ldea. But can it work with a 68mm BB? Yes, it can work. I do this with 100mm BBSHD motors on 68mm BB tandem bikes. 68mm BBS02 motors will actually clear the spider on the left side. You will need to space it out with BB spacers to install the bracket. I have some 10mm spacers. PM me if you nee...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

850C display firmware can be installed without open it Now that's more like it. No way was I going to break open a very expensive sealed display but this is an entirely different kettle of fish :) It will all depends if there are developers available to help investigate and develop the software, ot...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

This code changed bit since beta 2, now ui8_pas_cadence_rpm will be 0 if we are not pedaling forward: Can you please verify that you have cadence value only when pedaling forward?? This is the new piece of code to turn on/off the motor PWM. See that if there is not ui8_m_adc_battery_target_current ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I tested v19 beta 3 on a coaster brake motor. There is no backward resistance but I also have no power. I did a reset and triple checked all the settings. There are good torque and PAS/cadence readings but always 0 watts. Any ideas? The motor worked fine with v18.2 but had extreme backward resistan...

Re: electrifying a Tandem?

I just finished electrifying my town bike and it is great. Now I am thinking about trying to electrify our tandem. I don't know if anyone has tried this yet? The 850C I flashed was manufactured 17 june 2018 version number TFTGDV2.1C60 Main screen is very readable and looks good. :thumb: Config screen is awesome. It is completely intuitive and self-exp...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I thought that may be the case. I did get this screen 2nd hand some time ago (dec 2018) as a spare for my BBS-02 setup so the original seller is unknown unfortunately, but I have tried to contact them in case that can share where they purchased it from. My guess is its an earlier version but it was...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

My friends TSDZ2 appears to have a female connector coming from the motor and a color 850c display. Has anyone else seen this configuration? It is the same type of connector as on my TSDZ2. I'd like to flash it with custom firmware, but i don't want it to end up inoperable. I don't even know if the...

https://i.postimg.cc/MG8sWMhL/850C-LCD.jpg This is the current state of 850C LCD firmware. The graph is missing some data points, I think it is because system is running slow for all the calculations it need to do. I wish I could implement the top white line on the graph, for it be like an envelope...

Re: Temp. sensor issues

Re the first issue ... it sounds like the wiring loom you have - has different colours ... I would double check with Electrify, but I suspect they are having that harness custom made so the wiki is not correct. It sounds like orange was one of your data lines going to the screen. You should be able...

I realized that my Luna display 850P that I bought from them 2yrs ago had a voltage reduce/limit built in. With my 14s pack fully charged, it still only display 56.4v. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/lFMAAOSwr~lYtD3h/s-l500.jpg On my new display 850C from Aliexpress, newer model, it showed a full 58...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

how difficult would it be to gradually limit power as temps go up? would that even fit on top of all the code, in the monochrome LCDs? pretty much similar with programmable curve for PC fans. instead of having the user back off the pedals, this would be a much safer way to preserve temps :D That wa...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Buba, one user told the throttle not working may be something about 0 cadence - this can make sense. For debug, force motor PWM disable and override the throttle variable with a fixed value -- then do a debug to see where the code is forcing the motor output to zero when throttle > 0. I wonder if t...
