Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
To you distributors, have you sensed Sur-Ron has some deep pockets behind it? From my dealings with the export manager i sense they are very keen to sell their products and also interested in feedback. They are genuinely interested in knowing what the customers want. They are also dictated by their...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
There is nothing else to see as all circuitry is fully potted in black silicone. Only the caps and the motor terminals protrude.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
The controller has a few caps rated at 80V probably not going to be too happy with a voltage increase.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Here is the 58T fitted to my bike that runs a Dunlop MX71 rear tyre.
I also have tried a UFO KTM85 front fender but it looks way too big.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
I can add pressure to my Fastace fork to increase compression, the new Fastace fork is spring and i havent tested it yet. Anyone tested this new FastAce spring-based fork (just gained a basic understanding of front forks/suspension - air vs. spring)? Going away from air seems to remove one of the m...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Great story Mark!
I’m glad you are that happy with the bike.
I have fitted Zefal front guards to my RST equipped bikes, easy install secured with provided Velcro straps.
You will have a few more Light Bee owners nearby soon as I’ve had a lot of interest from NZ guys.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
I’m sure that this will not be a concern for 90% of owners since most want to use the bikes as commuters and not dirt bikes. The bikes need headset adjustment checked periodically and I only found the bearing race cracked after not being able to adjust out the play. The rougher the terrain, the more...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
The Fastace fork is a Marzocchi clone/copy so I would imagine the parts to be identical or out by Chinese tolerance 1-2mm

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
I only ride the bikes as dirt bikes in the bush on some varied gnarly terrain, so my opinion is not suitable for most. I agree that if you are riding one of these and pretending to be riding an e-bicycle get the RST fork, if you are going to be jumping the bike and bush bashing over rocks etc i thin...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
My displays show 65-68kph but GPS records from Strava APP on Iphone says 58kph max speed. Im only 75kg. I had a guy that was 140kg ride and he saw 62kph on the display, flat out on smooth road! The max speed recall on one of my bikes says 83kph! Maybe on the dyno they wind them up and then reduce th...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Frame colour, voltage and fork brand are all optional.
Fork preference is more suited to riding style and location.
Fastace is Mx duty has more steering angle.
Rst is Mtb fork same as Oset use on the 24.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China
cool video but where is all the gear or chain whine comeing from ? this diffinetly sounds louder than a hub or even the c3000w mid drives ? it could be that the belt or chain is doing all the high rpm reduction as their is no gearbox. whereas on the c3000w type mid drive ebikes its done inside the ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China
48v battery weighs 10kg, 48v bike complete weigh s 50kg 60v battery weighs 12kg, 60v bike complete weighs 52kg No rim locks on either rims. 1000kms so far with no issues bar a puncture, and wearing out rear tyres. Tyres are something between MTB and MX casing. Heavier than MTB but half the weight of ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China
enclosing the belt drive (primary nor secondary) to keep out trail debris, etc probably isn't a great idea because according to Gates belt manual, belt drive needs adequate ventilation at high rpm or it can overheat and potentially damage the belt.. also any shroud or enclosure around the belt drive...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China
Now Aebrennan, you really do know the answer here. The fact is the Sur-Ron isn't fundamentally different from other higher capacity e-bikes. It's not so different from a Stealth Bomber, or Raptor, etc... Battery, motor, controller, bike components. And it is offering a value that MAJORLY exceeds th...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China
I understand the idea of wanting pedals, but was never intended to be an e-bike it was always an e-moto. The pedal kit is a slap on afterthought, and will be hilarious to see a full size american pedal this thing. I doubt anyone will be comfortable trying to ride it like a bicycle. Have you seen the...

I cant wait to see videos of you clowns pedalling this moto  Please post vids asap :P Makes it more widely usable. :-). Can always swap pedals for pegs. I'd love some kind of kit that would allow for peddling a generator (not mounted to swingarm) to pump power back into the battery. That or re...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China
Another mod that will need to be done is a better shroud for the primary gear on the reduction shaft. After one day at a mx track i found the belt begin to get noisy, and after a thorough clean i noticed this wear on the gear. I would recommend anyone contemplating a secondary belt drive to steer cl...

Re: [AUSTRALIA] Sur-Ron Light Bee / Fire Fly - Mid drive ebike
I have been trying a few different mods with my bikes in the last few months of ownership. I began with flipping the bar stem and shuffling the spacers around to get a bit more bar height., Then I got a few different sets of riser bars (38mm rise)to try out to get more comfortable. I also have fitte...
