Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
I find the bike crazy fast, especially with a 60t sprocket. Oh but this bike is ASI powered 72v

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Has anyone tried a 52V battery with the Sur Ron? Does it work with the stock or X controller? I'm not sure if there is a low voltage cutoff set in the controller. It might be nice to carry a spare mighty mini battery in your backpack in case your main battery runs out! We received 2 x bikes back in...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
A e-bikes have the ASI Bac8000 controller fitted pretty neatly. I can see you are using the stock display, so it means that it works perfectly with BAC-8000 without any tweaks? [/quote] Please don't jump to conclusions and misinform people following, there is already enough false information on thi...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
How much price difference there is between BAC-4000 and BAC-8000? Also, would BAC-4000 be enough for 8 KW power and to reach 100 km/h? Also, I'm not sure about the fit, since the length of the BAC-8000 seems to suggest that it can't fit very well. A e-bikes have the ASI Bac8000 controller fitted pr...

Re: Andrew's LMX 161 Chain-drive massacre Build Log
I got my LMX 161 running today and have an issue with the rear tyre. I have the 19” moto rim and have fitted 2 different tyres but they both will not seat properly, they both balloon at a random point? I tried my CST Sur-Ron tyre and Dunlop MX52 both did same thing, had anyone else had this issue? I...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
someone recently ordered a seat from their dealer and it was the new more padded seat, not the older version.. there will always be an unobtanium X(perimental) model, thats r&d and marketing.. but many of these upgrades will likely be faded into production and distribution on base models or ava...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
The sine wave controllers are termed “unstable” by the factory whatever their understanding of the term is? We have had issues of throttle not responding, throttle not responding with identical power delivery, no drive from standstill, and poor wiring termination at connectors. We are not given any ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Our latest shipment arrived on Friday and we will be sending out pre orders this week to our Australian and New Zealand customers. The controllers have not been reliable and I would prefer not to send anymore overseas until the factory can support customer warranty directly. The X-perimental control...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Today we received our shipment of X version bikes. I can confirm that the bike comes factory fitted with sine wave controller, x version graphics, number board and rear plate, grey grips, new bars, different colour calipers, different brake pads, gold o’ring chain and DNM suspension. The bike has th...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
I wonder if Luna would even consider buying the old stock bikes at this point if they were going to place another order. That would be kind of dumb to do considering they know everyone is going to want the X-Version with the better controller. That is why we must all do our duty and demand Luna get...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
We were specifically asked not to talk about the X bike on the forum by the factory. That seems a bit strange. Maybe it's not really ready for prime time yet. Maybe because then nobody wants to buy the current model anymore and they can't get rid of the "old" stock as everyone wants an X ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Does anyone know where I can order the new X version to Canada ? Has anyone had any luck order direct off of tao bao or a china direct equivalent ? Anyone ?????? Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
The bikes can come from the factory with USD forks, initially these were supplied by Fastace, but now DNM. If the bike is fitted wit RST forks you get Fastace rear shock. If the bike is fitted with DNM fork you get DNM rear shock. I would say the RST is a better fork, it just stands out being White....

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
A e-bikes.com.au has been shipping parts and bikes worldwide since March. I stopped posting information here by request from the manufacturer, probably due to the majority of members being in the USA and restricted to what they can purchase locally. @Aebrennan: I see you stock the speedometer, that...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
The bikes were designed to have a 26” Mtb front wheel used, all the pre production images showed the bikes with a 26” front wheel, Fox 40 forks, Shimano brakes and higher bars. The final product ended up with 19” MX rims front and rear to cut production costs and use one supplier for both wheels. Al...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
I much prefer the bike with a larger front wheel, and better suspension. In Australia most people are using the bikes for trail riding or enduro style riding, and come from a dirt bike background as opposed to e-bikes. I have started having front wheels built for stock as most are interetsed in the ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
So I just got kicked off Luna's Sur Ron Owners group (on Facebook) - simply for engaging in conversation. Apparently they only allow members that do nothing but kiss up to them. What a joke, and a hell of a way to treat customers. Their loss - I was only trying to help others in their so-called com...

For those of us in Australia, Volt Ebike ( Sydney based ebike business ) are taking pre orders for the legal road registered version of Sur Ron .. Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Have around 175miles on my Firefly. Have enjoyed it, the bit that I've used it. So, do we know if we're going to get the X-version with its sine wave controller in the US through Luna with certainty? Time frame? from what I've seen so far, Sur-ron model X is only available from dealers in China (fo...

Re: Sur Ron powertrain kit for DIY moto conversion?
I have been riding the Light Bee for over 6 months now and I am getting 70kms range from a charge. Average speed is 25-30kph with a top speed of 60kmh. I weigh 75kg and can ride the bike for 3 hours usually. My vids are on YouTube under aebikes so you can gauge the terrain and style.
