ebike performance in 110-150 degree and 80%+ humidity?

curious what performance concerns there would be with operating and maintaining an ebike (dd or geared) in both an extremely humid and hot atmosphere? I recall that rain isn't so much a problem for hub motors as is the temperature differential wicking in moisture into the hub... if everything is hot...

Help me win a thing!

Hello all, I have a little art project I put together for work that I'm looking for support on. (It admittedly didn't turn out too well due to torrential downpour and not quite perfect ink transfer technique. Nonetheless... I want to win :D! .. put money towards an e-bike build I've been planning!) ...

Bi-directional twist throttle / regen on PhaseRunner ctrller

Hello... anyone know of any half twist bi-directional throttles that are compatible with the forward/regen function on the Phaserunner controller? http://www.ebikes.ca/documents/Phaserunner_Manual_Rev1.0.pdf -> page 4 Otherwise... two other questions 1. is it possible to set up the Phaserunner to ac...

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

Newb here considering this motor for commuter build. Would this overpower a steel front fork even with grin torque arms installed? Donor bike is a steel SS bike.. ( http://wabicycles.com/classic-tech-specs/ This seems like a beast of a motor for a bike like that. I mean, aesthetically, it would com...

If so then you can limit the power.
If not, you can limit the power via the controller if it programmable, if its not the a physical change to the controller via the shunt modification.
Considering both options in analysis of alternatives, yes.

Re: Comparing DIY vs Commercial E-Bike options for my 1st Eb

Been reading into the leaf mirror. Holy butts. Any issues with installing it on front fork? Can out run off a 48v 17.4ah 18560 based battery? Considering buying just the hub ($275 shipped) from leaf motor (to save on shipping weight).. +100 to get laced to wheel here.. Spokes, controller, throttle a...

Re: Comparing DIY vs Commercial E-Bike options for my 1st Eb

I am not considering a Golden Motor at all.

I live in the greater St Louis, MO area.

If I go with a DIY Hub, it'll be through ebikes.ca. If mid drive, probably Lunacycle.

Thank you for the feedback on the Crosscurrents.

Can you keep pedaling if a mid drive fails?

Specifically the BBS02/HDs. Interested for commuting purposes. If the motor fails/runs out of battery, what mechanisms permit you to continue to 'ride the bicycle'? Are those mechanisms rugged enough to rely on in case of motor failure?

Re: Comparing DIY vs Commercial E-Bike options for my 1st Eb

Do you have tools and skills? I have most tools required for general bicycle mx... still need a torque wrench though >_> I wouldn't get anything less than a 10ah Lithium 50 Volt 14S pack. Mileage claims are always over rated. Pre-built bikes have poor battery monitoring in General. A Cycle Analyst ...

Comparing DIY vs Commercial E-Bike options for my 1st Ebike

Curious how the two compare. Am deliberating between a DIY DD hub kit with the TDM sensor and a Juiced Bikes Crosscurrent or Copenhagen Wheel for a car-replacement loaded commuter purposed ebike. Commute is 7-10 miles one way (14-20 miles round trip)... My budget is ~$1,200 (<$1500 minus cost of a C...
