Re: Timed Charger

We had a guy here with a timer on his LiCo single cell chargers. He dissapeared without a word ... Until then, he averaged 13 posts per day . Totally gone. Using a timer charger is russian-roulette with five bullets. Sounds like that is the case (russian-roulette with five bullets) on lith. ...

Re: Timed Charger

my two watts worth. The higher current timed charger does have a place. I have tinkered with this idea, even bought some parts to advance the concept. My idea was to just use the timer as a "failsafe", as when running errands, charge time is very seldom enough for a full charge. And I find myself ra...

some very nice suggestions for the generic joe/juanita ebike needs in a medium size town. would go for the lesser pricing on each usggestion, and go with an entry level AH meter rather than c/a. that would leave some $$'s for eithr a bike to buy or for some assistance in assembly if the buyer has li...

Re: What kind of ebike to get? a non profit org exercise

Somebody is boud to ask: "Why not get a bus pass?" :? For the money it is a good partial solution. Our bus system is quite limited, is decent for some routes, not many. Most busses run once per hour, a few every half our. about 1/4 of our city, colorado springs, is covered. I bought two 20 ride bus...

I am a home brewer. The local brew supply store has doubled the price of hops and is rationing sales to one small bag of hops per purchase of $25.

Re: EV Global Motor Question

Oh, another question. I believe at 36V, this motor does around 17mph. So it would then be reasonable to say that the speed would increase (48/36) * 17mph = 22.6mph? Any idea of what kind of current the motor would draw at 48V? I need to find the right battery. My commute is around 13 miles round tr...

Re: Help with EV Global 24V ebike controller with bad uP

There are places to buy the stock 24v controller, Omaha, and Florida if I remember. they sometimes post on ebay. do an ebay history search. Two other optiions, 1) since it is a brushed controller, it would not be hard to upgrade. Then go 36v as long as you are at it. or, 2) I think i have a spare 24...

Welcome. Search on E-Zip Trailz to see what others have said on previous entries, YMMV (your mileage may vary) of course. Charge SLA batteries right after use, and some say to take it easy on the brushed motor the first ride or two, for breakin purposes. Its a bicycle, be sure to do bike type things...

Re: 500W Cyclone kit with Milwaukee question

Cyclone will handle 30volts, but dont charge the pack while connected to the controller- voltage gets too high. The cyclone will attempt to deliver over 800w to the motor under big loads. thats about 26 amps. Use a drain brain to control maximum amperage if you wish. I know little of the Milwaukee p...

Hi all, .... How do the different battery chemistries like 30 or 40 A going into them? ...... What about NiCd and NiMH? Is it just a reverse of the chemical process that generates forward current? What are the losses? But with Lithium batteries, what does the BMS do when it sees a huge charging cur...
