Never occurred to me Ad space on ebikes could be a commodity, I'd like to see "rent the same bike for half the price at Acme Bike Rentals" on the screen.

Not that' I'd buy them from a unknown source but I'm seeing the 7.5ah packs available from some random sellers for $230.00 to $250.00 vs. Home Depot's $358.75

Looks like it's had a lot of moisture getting in there and resulting rust? Squirt bottle of Liquid Wrench, spray liberally, let soak, repeat might eventually do the trick now that you've opened up a path for it to get in.
