Never occurred to me Ad space on ebikes could be a commodity, I'd like to see "rent the same bike for half the price at Acme Bike Rentals" on the screen.

Re: New Build with EGO 56V Home Depot Battery - Wow
Not that' I'd buy them from a unknown source but I'm seeing the 7.5ah packs available from some random sellers for $230.00 to $250.00 vs. Home Depot's $358.75

Re: Are ebrakes sufficient?
If people choose not to have an ebrake lever hooked into their system it doesn't bother me, I always just put it on, connected it figuring it's another point of protection since it pretty much instantly cuts power and it was included with the kits I ordered. Also one on the front brake works good as...

Sorry for going OT but I wanted to mention this, according to Visionsource:

Remember to be careful if you’re using bungee’s to secure things to racks.

Re: Smallest battery suggestions for 6 mile ride and Bafang BBSHD
I started looking further into the EGO packs while I was waiting for something else today. There are some good videos out there about these. I have both Shark and EGO batteries, the connectors are quite different at the detail level. I'm thinking about making a 3D printed mount for EGO packs. I've ...

Re: Smallest battery suggestions for 6 mile ride and Bafang BBSHD
Tool pack batteries are now in the 7.5 ah size like EGO and Echo? It looks like the EGO batteries have a standard tool battery type connecting tabs, in order to have a male connection to plug into the battery I wonder if a person could hunt up something that would work hitting the used stores and f...

Monsterscooterparts has a lot of izip parts and assorted Currie stuff if for some reason your freehub is not repairable wouldn't hurt to try them and see if they have the hub used in that model.

Re: The SB Cruiser: Amberwolf&Dogman's 2WD CargoTrike&DogCarrier
The trike looks great with the fresh paint and wood stain, really spruced things up a lot and with the hub motor swap too nice job all around. It must be a challenge keeping things running cool during the brutal summer temps you guys have down there, been to Phoenix during summer, yeah it gets a bit...

Re: Hub Motors for Cargo Bikes
Knowing how the long wheelbase makes mine such a fun bike to ride through windy corners even with 26" wheels I can imagine your's will be even more fun to corner with the 20" wheel and a bit lower center of gravity. The long wheelbase makes them feel kind of motorcycle ish. Some of you guy...

Option 1: Down tube mounted battery Try the new Wolf pack - https://lunacycle.com/luna-wolf-52v-ebike-battery/ - this should fit most smaller frames. It is on the expensive end for the capacity for sure - but all quality 52V packs start at around $450, so you are effectively paying $150 more for si...

Re: Mongoose CX24V450 with 2500 watt L-R Small Block
First post here, though I've been lurking and reading the forum for a year. Now that I'm looking to build an Ebike rather than buy another, the Mongoose 24v450 has been popping up as a great candidate for my intended usage. As I've been researching the bike this thread keeps showing up. I think Lig...

Re: Hub Motors for Cargo Bikes
If anyone is actually looking at this thread, I'm back from a 5 month break and trying to remember what the heck I was even doing with this bike...I think I was about to try to mount the battery and I can see why I gave up! The chainline is going to be really difficult to re-route around the batter...

Re: Check out this funky design
I commend your restraint, with my lack of willpower I'd be hitchhiking over to the scrapyard with a patchkit and a crescent wrench attempting to pedal the thing home, $15.00 Ebike project is hard to pass up. If I didn't already have a handful of motors I'm not using, and a few bike frames and most ...

Re: Check out this funky design
If it was a little closer I'd probably go pick it up. Yeah - I've thought the same thing myself. But I figured it wasn't worth getting killed and having my wife charged with my murder, so I just look at it as "gold" for someone else. Besides, it would probably cost almost as much in gas a...

raisedeyebrows - did you post build threads? Do you like your rockhopper or should I do something else? I've just had 3 specialized bikes & they've all been decent. I have a 2007 stumpjumper & a 2006 allez (roadie) rt now. Looks like SLC has about a half dozen shops selling and renting ebik...

Re: mid drive?
would a mid drive like this be easy to install in that specialized rockhopper linked above? And how would it compare to the rear wheel hub motor? I watched a couple comparison videos & a build someone did using RC parts https://www.empoweredcycles.com/collections/complete-electric-bike-kit/prod...

Looks like it's had a lot of moisture getting in there and resulting rust? Squirt bottle of Liquid Wrench, spray liberally, let soak, repeat might eventually do the trick now that you've opened up a path for it to get in.

Regular bicycles being imported in the EU are also a source of controversy, if current tarrif's and duties expire the European bicycle industry is really going to be in for some changes: http://www.bike-eu.com/laws-regulations/nieuws/2018/3/eu-to-review-anti-dumping-measures-on-import-of-conventiona...

If you're looking for a microloan, go to somebody who does that. https://www.thebalance.com/micro-loans-in-canada-2948489 Great suggestion, I know some folks who got a micro loan, built a food product that turned out to be real successful, they eventually sold the company for several million bucks,...
