Re: Suggestion to make my Ebike look nicer?

Looks like it might be difficult to pedal with the box on there holding the battery? Bell seatpost racks are pretty inexpensive, get one of those and put the battery on that, crank the coil shock down so it's real stiff and put a piece of some kind of thick rubber under the seatpost tube to keep it ...

Re: Rebuilding my 48V 14AH 18650 Pack 13S7P to 13S8P

Something on the cheap that might work for you for your battery box is at True Value I found little black plastic garbage cans for $2.99, ones like you'd use in an office or bedroom, actually pretty nice thick black plastic that cuts with a box knife or tin snips. Making a small case out of acrylic ...

Re: Registering and Insurance

A competent attorney could likely tell you right off the bat if your rights are being violated. See if you can get one on the phone for a quick question and see what they think, within a couple calls I usually can find one who will hear my problem and give me their opinion on if they think the situa...

Curious why they carry two massive pairs of bolt cutters in the van, is it so they can take any bike they feel like?

Re: It's now Spring 2018.. Why haven't e-bikes gotten cheaper?

In the classified ads you see quite a few ebikes of the types of bike Chalo spoke of where the owner found out even though the price they paid for the bike was fairly high (in their eyes anyway) it turned into a money pit with components falling apart, it might have cost a bit over $1000.00 new whic...

Re: Highest capacity 18650 cells

If it's a 2018 bike it seems kind of a shame to take out perfectly good newish cells and replace them. An extra battery isn't all that heavy, maybe just buy another one and carry it when you think you're going to need it? I could carry one of my Hailong case batteries in a backpack no problem, I car...

That is a nice looking bike, Carbon frame looks wicked. Almost $7,000 USD but looks very well engineered.

Re: Downtube 9FS folding bike review - my take

My Ecobike Vatavio seems well built, no suspension but the frame is rock solid, not too heavy and not much flex. Rides nicely even going down hills at high speeds (high folding bike speeds anyway). Too bad they went out of business, I really enjoy riding the bike.

Re: Car "replacement" e-bike and where to park

The way to have it not get stole is for it to look like Amberwolf built it. Not ugly per se, but still not obviously a highly desirable tadpole trike either. I've been looking at the Scorpio SR-i900 alarm system. I have a difficult time imagining someone would steal a bike with such an alarm no? Th...

Re: Car "replacement" e-bike and where to park

Aren't gas powered bicycles covered under special exemption for riders who can't drive? I was under the understanding if you can't get a license/insurance/registration all you need to do is show proof of DUII and you can ride wherever you want. Also I saw one for sale in a classified ad and it didn'...

Re: Car "replacement" e-bike and where to park

Yeah I've been thinking about using an arduino to make a custom alarm that screams "BIKE THEIF"! whenever somebody gets within 5 feet of the bike. I wonder if that would be enough. Just order a couple of the motion activated bike/motorcycle alarms, get two, install one in a hidden spot on...

I have sort of a similar project I want to undertake, sitting on a couple old Honda Cub 50's and want to convert one. Not as nice as OP's bike but will be fun. I'm considering trying a QS-205 with a 72v battery paired with appropriate controller. Something I'll have to save up for though because I h...

If you have a Disabled placard displayed on the back of the scooter and are sitting on the seat while riding you'd think you'd be left alone, it's not like you're a 15 yr old kid ripping around hopping curbs and buzzing old ladies on the sidewalk. My guess is if you had a legal aid attorney or other...

If you want to buy from a vendor in the USA I have purchased quality batteries from EMPowered and his support is real good, he's in the Bay Area and communicating with him is not a hassle like some other vendors:

a set of Kool-Stop tri-compound pads on the V-brake, worth the $24.00 or whatever they cost at your LBS, they are by far the best brake pads I've ever used and they work well in wet conditions too.
