Re: E-bike restricted trail access and hate
Never seen those. Can't imagine them installing them around here; it'd interrupt the cars too much, and we can't have that. :/ News reports with stuff like this helped get the word out about stopping when drivers see the obnoxiously bright flashing lights: "A decoy pedestrian crossed the stree...

Re: E-bike restricted trail access and hate
Which is why I always ride my bicycle over to the Pedestrian Signal Button at the intersection and use it . Sometimes when riding my Motorcycle I have to put the side stand down , get off it and walk over and press the Pedestrian Signal Button to get the light to turn. However this does not work wi...

Re: E-bike restricted trail access and hate
But it is sad that we must "keep the peace" with folks in heavy automobiles, trains, buses etc. who somehow think we should pedal while they don't have to?!? We're not even at the point where all stinking car drivers can agree that bicycles have a right to use the road-- even though in fa...

Looking great! I bet it is really fun to rip around with them both Yeah it’s a real blast to ride, plenty of get up and go on tap if I need to get out of the way of something. Glad Mike could get this project to fruition before the prime riding season weather hits hard, already putting some miles o...

Lotta stuff available from music equipment outlets, stuff like Vic Firth earplugs that cut the sound level down but you can still hear well. Might be worth a shot.

Re: Electrohodaka Electric Hodaka Conversion
Cool build there, the stuff here on ES never ceases to amaze me. I will try to watch this one, used to ride Hodaka Dirt Squirt 100 and then Super Rat 100 model. Local shop sold them, I remember the prices well, $449.00 for the Dirt Squirt and $499.00 for the Super Rat (which was actually a pretty ho...

Crimp Supply has contacts, possible they might be able to order the right size material or actual ones that are coated on all sides?

The material needed for the spades is similar to this stuff, maybe different dimensions and I’d assume getting it in bulk form is of course preferable?:

I've ordered 7 packs from this dude with this battery. Pretty freaking awesome they're panasonic ncr18650 cells! When I got the packs they're really low voltage around 2-2.8V per cell but they charge up just fine and I get around 2750mah per cell. They're dirt cheap at $1.6/Cell so I figured these ...

Re: The end of BionX?
Stopped in my LBS yesterday to get a couple little washers and asked them what was going on with the Bionix situation, they said they're at least going to sell their remaining stock and see what happens with the company. I told them they should just get an account with Grintech started and ask Justi...

eCue I like that idea of a hubmotor converted into a paddle drive, can you expound on why a front hub motor would be preferable to a rear one? An epaddlewheeler would be very cool!

How about a set of those "reserve" carbon rims Santa Cruz is offering now, the ones in the video where the pro rider attempted to destroy them? They appear nearly indestructible, probably not cheap either.

With 24" Rhynolite rim & Surly disk hub on front, bumped the stack height up some more and really improved the ride over bumps over the 20" wheel, feels like going from a 26" wheel to a 29er on a MTB. Now on the hunt for a beefy 24" tire for the front and I see there is plent...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Could a person put a Fox 40 or some other capable downhill fork on one of these bikes? On the supermoto picture, I think the bike had fox forks (unless they were just stickers but I doubt it). I’m sure it can be done, just gotta make sure you get the proper triple clamp. The forks are a piece of ca...

Too bad that bike doesn't have a beefy full suspension with dual coil shocks on the rear, it would probably soak up potholes and driveway curbs and laugh them off even with the weight of the battery(s).

When I wanted to take the cover off my hubmotor this thread was helpful, I had no problem with the 3-4 screwdriver method.

Somebody was saying previously purchasing the batteries with a tool was usually a good deal. I notice they are currently offering the 21" mower with 7.5ah battery and fast charger for $499.00. The regular price if you buy the battery alone is $358.75 and the charger $99.00. Is there something I...

Looks like Pivot did a nice job with the integrated battery thing, also using 157 superboost spacing, I'm sure the rear end is real stiff, I have one of their regular unpowered bikes with standard boost and it is just a wonderful bike to ride, love the design. On the Ebike they claim you can pull th...

Could you post a photo of the bike and how the weight/cargo is distributed on it? I'd enjoy seeing it, most of us like seeing bikes that can carry a lot of weight.
