Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

The charger plug looks like a 3 pin Mini-DIN, but without the square center post. Do they come without that post? Can you rid yourself of it's not DIN. The closest match I have found is GX-16 3-pins. However, the stock cable is Reention-branded (the mfg. of the battery case), and It looks like the ...

Re: How much power is to much for a standard mtb?

If you shift and keep the revs up when accelerating, should be fine. Order a few spare chains(like $20 kmc x11-93) and switch to a steel cassette. Big selection on aliexpress for $25. would recommend the KMC X11-E chains instead, they are specifically reinforced for ebike use. I get 3500-4000km out...

UPDATE: 7+ years and it is still working great 8) How many have a fridge 29+ years old? haha, this story Is almost similar to my Liebehrr fridge made in West Germany (so before URSS collapse). pouches or tubes, lithium batteries are dangerous and will go thermonuclear given the right circumstances.
That's a fact we have to deal with. And this is not the thread for that :P

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

According to the AM1000 specs on Alibaba, the bike features the "MAGURA MT5 Ne [brake lever] with brake sensor". On the Magura website I could only find the "MT5e", which was specially designed for e-bikes and S-Pedelecs and has a brake light switch. the MT5 "-E" is basically just a switch terminat...

Ivanovitch, how is your battery rebuild going? still awaiting delivery of some insulation materials... I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but; is it possible to tap into the brake lever motor cutoff to opporate a rear brake light? As evidenced by Tom L post and followup observation...

Yea I did, In one word the cycle life of Samsung 35E at 0.5C-1C 100% DoD is disaster. edit: should've hit that refresh button, got severely toasted on that LVC thingy  sheeeii**** might explain why sammy says the cutoff voltage is 2.65V vs 2.5 for most other cells ? Looking forward to your new...

My question is how hard was it to assemble? I have never put together a bicycle before, much less one with a motor.

Re: Highest capacity 18650 cells

My standard 100% DoD cycle life test is 0.5C charge and 1C discharge of nominal capacity. Translated to MJ1 it is 1700mA charge and 3400mA discharge current. LG MJ1 is holding its initial internal resistance (and capacity at 1C rate) almost to the death. On the other side Sanyo GA internal resistan...

If enough of the protocol gets deciphered, it would be possible to make your own display unit with custom features, including the magnet switch.
this is well underway at the french forum. ESP32 implementation.

I have the SRAM EX-1 isis crankset and they come with these. You only need an 8mm hex bit for both install & removal :D !

Re: ?________________ minimum inner rim width for a 3" tire ?

That chart is so inconsistent as to be more of a fashion guide than a technical reference. this chart is only for DT Swiss rims & wheels and it surely accounts for liability / safety margins. That's why it doesn't include 5" rims as they don't produce any. For the max tire pressure, as annotated in...

I've personally been using 2.4" tires on 19mm inner width rims for > 10k km at minimal recommended pressure. No issues whatsoever even with high-spee...
