Re: 1970 Vespa 50s electrification project

If you wrap some fiberglass cloth around the wood panel and soak it in gelcoat it will waterproof it perfectly without losing size or shape,it doesn't even have to be fiberglass cloth, you could use speaker cloth and use a paintbrush to staple in fiberglass resin to seal

Re: Serial connection for 2x 36v BMS batteries?

Subscribed, I was simply going to pull the packs apart and use the bare cells to make new packs, but what I have seen so far they are easy to work with. I tripped one playing with my EM1 where I seriesed 2 packs to trouble shoot the electrics. Out of 20 packs one was 28v most were 36.6-36.8 and 4 we...

Going from 72v to 52v

So the scenario is, I got my hands on a beat up EM1 sans battery/charger. I have a few packs I can use, a 48v 36Ah Pack and a 52v 30Ah pack. The controller is programmable so I know that will be fine for either pack. The last part of the equation is the motor. I think I know the answer but all the w...

Re: what battery

You are brobably best having one built here as transporting lithium is costly, your looking around $100 shipping and $150 duties/courier costs. If your close to the border I would see if Luna can build you one and ship it to a drop post close to the border. Cheaper and faster for sure.

Re: Looking to buy a new 3kW (5kW peak) 48V Scooter

Building the battery was the easy part. Most progress in escooter bikes come in the high voltage newer offerings, I just got my hands on a daymak em1 and it's not as well built as the emmo/motorino offerings but compared to 3 years ago it's amazing, you battery should be made to fit one of those rat...

Re: Motorino XPD Speed Limiter Removal

3 screws on the right rear panel, lift up and remove indicator plug. Now you should be looking at a mess of wires, there's a plug (2 pin) that is probably grey/white, could be anything, but basically its a loop that you can unplug and viola! The loop is about 1 1/2 inches long and you should be able...

If your already at the controller then as long as you have the power, motor phase and hall connectors wired and the 3 wires of a throttle connected you shouldn't need anything else to test. It should run at full power, if not suspect the controller.

Re: Canadian supplier of parts for Gio scooters

The wiring is probably about the easiest part but you probably want to put something like xt90 connectors on your battery pack if your using SLA batteries, if your going lithium then you can put whatever comes on your charger (xt60 is probably the standard) to your charge/discharge lead and have wha...

Re: Opened up my BBS02 today and made a terrible discovery.

It will wear prematurely, but that's a given, I would de-burr the gear but be careful not to heat it to much. The 2 gears will be work hardened together so replacing one without the other may lead to the same premature wearing scenario. I also say grease it but give it a good clean out after a few w...

Re: Emmo Urban/Kiwi E-bike/Daymak Torino upgrade

One thing to note as a word of caution to others, the Emmo Urban unlike the kiwi, Torino, and sprinter (the other 3 bikes I have played with) has 18" wheels, which severely limits the available motor choice as I have found out. Luckily a friend is happy to trade his wheels and worn out tires for my ...

I thought of that, unfortunately they have to be cranked to miss the frame and they need to be quite a bit shorter than anything I have.

Pedals and arms

I recently got a cheap escooter to replace my stollen emmo urban, it's pretty much the same bike called a sprinter, however the previous owner thought it would be cool to remove the pedals and arms making the bike impossible to power along with dead battery's. So I'm looking for any type of replacem...
