Re: Can I drill/enlarge this hole in the bike frame to run w

Contact the maker and ask if they sell an extension cable? You could hack that up without compromising the original wire set?

Also, can you post a picture of the wire unplugged? Maybe it's a connector people recognize, and a source for an extension is available somewhere?

Re: After having my baby stolen a few weeks ago..need advice

For those of us with CA GPS analoggers... it'd be nice to utilize these as part of a locating device (such as those utilizing a pay as you go connection). Is there an easy way to get a stream out to another microcontroller, I wonder? I hope I don't sound like a sales man for the GeoGram One... but ...

Re: need some help i have a 500 budget

...i also want to be able to peddle it incase of failure or dead battery... Look at geared hub motors, they freewheel when not in use and so introduce very little drag. I used to commute about 8 miles each way by bike alone - no electric assist. Not bad for an out of shape guy over 40. The point is...

Re: The F3: Maintenance!

Did some maintenance today. Here's what I did, with some lessons learned: 1. Replaced my chains. I knew the chains were getting stretched, but put off maintenance and today I had to pay the piper. 1-A. The electric drive chain was starting to damage the drive chainring (on the rear wheel) teeth. I d...

...Looks good! Matt THANKS Matt! Both my Recumpense reduction equipped bikes are still running good as new. But alas, with me there will always be a "next build". This whole build will take awhile to complete. The current phase - fenders - is taking awhile as I want the plaster mold for the fibergl...

Re: android phone GPS tracker / security system ?

I'm now using a GeoGram One, some info here: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=53985&start=0#p804060 I'm still learning the ropes... but it is programmable through the arduio IDE and has general purpose digital and analog pinouts. I would expect the dedicated tracker to have longe...

Re: MattyCiii's third build

As mentioned in my last post. Here are some pictures of my effort to make my own fenders for this bike: I put down a base of insulating foam strips, then covered them by hand with plaster. My original hope was that the foam insulation would absorb the wet plaster and harden up, but it seems the foam...

Re: After having my baby stolen a few weeks ago..need advice

I think I need a way to inplant that GPS tracker device into the bowels of the Lip04 battery? The bike is only worth $180 but the battery is over $500. However I really apreciate you guys giving me all the ideas. I think I will go with that TIGR titanium lock. A motion alarm... The TiGr lock's powe...

Re: MattyCiii's third build

Quick updates: 1. Work has been busy lately, but it's important to keep up some forward progress. So I've started making a custom front fender for this bike. I have not looked very hard, but I doubt I'll find a front fender that fits the new bike well enough for my high standards. So, I'm going to m...

I never leave my ebike outside in public if I cannot glance at it every minute. You all forgot about that all equipment we carry on ebike, CA is over $150, powerful LEDs, etc. Bicycle rack are jokes, they are for dep. store bikes junk. Also I plan where I go. Place must accept bikes inside legally ...

Re: Building from components

As someone with less automotive background and more modest tool shed, but someone who has built a bike from the frame-up... maybe it's better to buy a decent (new or used) bike and add an electric kit. I spent a lot of time and energy on the little things - if I had a complete bike as a starting poi...

Re: A-Lines Abound: Let there be LIGHT!

An idea somewhat on your current topic. How about mounting a shifter cable to the light that runs to your bars so that as you adjust your light as needed. Not sure of your bar config but something like a 6-9 spd shifter to give you various angles. Then you'll have something low and nice on the peds...

Re: A-Lines Abound: Let there be LIGHT!

Had my first long (& bumpy) ride with the new lights. Barely made it 3 miles before I noticed the bolts had loosened, and the light was pivoting freely on the mounts. Instead of stopping and at least hand-tightening the bolts right away, I kept riding. I was meeting a bunch of bikers and figured "It...

Thanks Adam. I've actually had the 'bot since Jan 2011. It's been a bumpy road, I'd rather my 3D printer be a tool than a hoby onto itself.

I'm going, bringing the A-Line and the sound system.

really interesting.. i wonder if a 21"x3" or 90x90/21 very common motorcycle front tire fits and MTB frame. Measured 68cm in dia for both my 26" mtb tire and my 90x90/21 Suzuki DR650 front tire :? it is 85mm wide, should almost fit... The spokes are much thicker (4mm?) but the wheel itself should f...

Nice light setup Matt, You should consider keeping a tilt adjustment though, as other cyclist and pedestrian might not like the intensity of your LEDs and they will let you know ( I got several complains and I only have 2 x 1000 lumens ) At least, test it outside with your wife at night =) Good poi...

I love this little bike. It does everything. It's better than my A-Line in that it can carry stuff - lots of stuff. One way it carries stuff is so well is I have a mount point at the center of the handlebars where I can attach my back pack (somehow I don't have pix of this - I'll take some next chan...

Re: A-Lines Abound: As seen in ELECTRICBIKE.COM!

With days getting shorter it's time to work on lighting. I've had an excellent light source for some time now - two rows of six LED's each packaged with lenses and heat sink. They sat in my basement since like April. Days were getting longer then, so I lacked motivation to complete the project. All ...
