Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Why would I want to add a 5lbs rim and a 15 lbs tire? I have no idea where you are getting your numbers - but I don't think they are remotely realistic for what people have been installing. Funny you are lecturing people about tire weight when you Shinko weighs 7.4 pounds! My M403 weighs 5 po...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I really can't see why you would want to use a 3.5" tire on the Sur-Ron, especially using a 19x3.5". Anything will work I guess, remember we used to use hub motors which added 27lbs in the rear wheel and that worked, but its not optimal or a good idea. You always seem to think that what y...

Yeah HDPE is some tough super slippery stuff. Out of all the after market skid plates I've seen I like that one the most.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

And again you keep responding with no proof. That’s even more pathetic. Go ahead. Repeat yourself again... “i DonT oWe u ANytHinG”. Well guess what, you also can’t prove that I’m wrong. So there’s that. The burden of proof was accepted when you decided to say i was wrong. So yes, you DO owe me. I t...

Blah blah blah. Less talkie, more proof. I think you keep missing the point. No one is under any obligation to prove anything to you . I don't know why it's hard to believe that people have done what you are bragging about (and more) long ago. You just got your Sur Ron a month ago and are acting li...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

But still no proof that anyone is faster on a Sur Ron. Luke was running far faster over a year before you even got your hands on a Sur Ron. Believe it or not but no one owes you anything. You swear having an ASI controller and battery pack you bought is novel. You'll have go back in time to actuall...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Power doesn’t equal speed. So a 30kw Sur Ron (weight aside) can be slower than a 15kw Sur Ron (same riding weight) easily by fact of controller tuning. I'm certain Luke's 30kw Sur Ron far outperformed a 15kw one. Luke is legendary and very well respected in the community. He was probably hottroddin...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I wouldn't doubt it if Luke says it was over 100 mph. Luna on the other hand, in their videos was trying to show how the bike was faster than a 450 supermoto bike, when in reality a 450 would kill a Sur-ron. Yeah, the jump in that video was weak sauce. But - it was popping wheelies at what 50+ mph ...

IIRC it was luke (liveforphysics) that did all the craziness? 700phA apparently has the effect of 'waking up' this motor hahah. Mine's fun enough at 500phA.

And yes i have the fastest Sur Ron (gps and VBOX verified) at 77.5mph (124.7kmh). 72v Litespeed battery with ERT bac4000. If anyone has a faster Sur Ron id love to see gps video proof! I...

Just realized the non terminated wire under the seat is for the GPS tracker on the Chinese models... is there a tracker we can wire up to it that would work on the US version? Seems really useful.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Anodizing seems AWESOME. But i don't have a workshop like you guys! lol. It really doesn't take much as far as a shop goes. Could probably do it on a stove top - use the stove vent fan to mitigate any fumes. A controllable power supply is best, but you can use low power wall-warts or battery charge...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Generally drop-shippers charge their customers a premium for access to "their" parts, that they don't actually have at all lol. OK, but it's pure speculation on your part if that is what they are actually doing or not, right? You can just go buy the parts for less from a real dealer, but ...

That pop-up site is super shady, it looks like some newbs trying to get ebike money. I bet they got nothing at all in stock - drop shippers for sure. any other upgrades i should consider? Paint your footpegs black :thumb: Better yet: anodize them! Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

True; like I said it can be done with most plastics; certainly not all. That said, I don't think styrene/polyethylene parts are very common - especially for motorbike/bike parts. To use the immersed dye method, I would try first letting it soak at room temperature. If it doesn't absorb any ap...

awsome - gonna try that with PVC. I think you can just dip PVC in the dye for 30-60 minutes - might not even need to boil it. You can also use pipe-cleaner mixed with petroleum dye to stain PVC: https://makezine.com/projects/make-30/stain-pvc-any-color-you-like/ http://makezine.com/wp-content/uploa...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I bet ASI, in general, would sell a lot more controllers if they didn't go with their orange/blue theme. Is the case fairly easy to remove? If so, most thermoplastics can be dyed. Unlike paint, it won't scratch off. To dye plastic, get a pot big enough to contain the part, bring water to a bo...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

also surron wouldn't be what it is today without the investment from Segway (or others) .. Well since Segway didn't invest until 2019 (later in the year IIRC), I don't think we've seen any improvements as a result of that investment - yet . So I think it would be more accurate to say that the Sur R...
