Re: New 16-cell Battery Management System (BMS)

I again cannot type what I am thinking. I read a few pages back that 4.2 volt was possible. What I meant was, is there a total pack voltage limitation, could the system used on a 700 volt battery?

Re: Kelly Controller Pron, and a Call for Help

I am just tapping 24 volts out of my 75 Volt pack. So far seems to work OK.

Re: Sony VT Cells made into 75 volt 32.5 AH

I have had a couple of test runs so far. About 6.5 miles each time and put back about 6.5 amp hours. I don't have an amp meter that will go high enough to read what current I am drawing, so for now I have to rely on my chargers info. I have 32 amp hours available and by trying to stay under 80% DOD ...

Re: New 16-cell Battery Management System (BMS)

Thanks Gary. I am sorry for my bad wording, I meant, well you know what I meant. 2 boards of 9 or even 3 boards of 6 would work in my current application. I guess I should of added that these are 4.2 volt lithiums as well. What is the max voltage? Or would it not matter since it is only looking at e...

Re: Sony VT Cells made into 75 volt 32.5 AH

I found him on ebay from a friend who bought his cells and said they seemed to be as claimed. There is a reference to the Sony spec sheet on ebay.

Sony VT Cells made into 75 volt 32.5 AH

For my motorcycle http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3259 I wanted to go lithium to keep close to original weight. Therefore the search was on. I know A123 to be the best in small cells, and I really like the looks of the LifeBatts, however the price to get what I needed put it ou...

Gary, you said it could be downsized. Can it be upsized to 18 Cells?

Re: Kelly Controller Pron, and a Call for Help

You are right that the 24 volt control line gets its - from the B-

I am using this on mine and it works fine.

I think 88 volts should be fine, I think you could actually go to 100 as that is the limits in the control program.

Have you downloaded the program and hooked into yet?

Re: What Do I Need To Know To Build A Matched Cell Dewalt Pack.

I would parallel them first, then series them. However you will no longer be able to use the plastic holder and would have to disassemble all packs as they are welded in a 10S inside the pack. To make a 5P arrangement you would need to either solder them into 5P or make a holder for 5P. I guess afte...

Re: How would you build an AATV,(amphibious 6 wheeler)?

A lot easier to do and zero cost is tap into the 2nd battery to get 24 volts out of it, if using SLA. the power consumption is so low 100 MA that I really doubt it would unbalance your batteries much.

Re: Latest Report from LiFeBATT

Don,

Those specs look good. Thank God I live in Florida and don't have to worry about -20C temps.

I think a much more useful and realistic life test would be 80% DOD cycles at 10 C discharge with 1C Charging.

Re: new Kelly brushless regen controllers

Your English is fine. My Ex is from Australia, the do have the Kangaroos. That's an awfully big controller for that size of Bike. I really doubt it will ever heat up based on your load. I am trying to get the regen working. So far I haven't, but once again kelly has been very responsive and we are w...

Re: new Kelly brushless regen controllers

Allow me to step in and be a guinea pig. I just found this forum this morning. WOW great info in here. I have in my hands currently a working Kelly Controller (72 volt 300 amp) with a Mars motor. Here is some info http://www.evalbum.com/preview.php?vid=1511# on my project. A 200 CC Suzuki conversion...
