Re: 20AH 48V pack using Samsung 25R + Agniusm modules + Generic BMS

Nevermind about the current, I just watched some of their videos. Still, I look forward to see how you like them in use :)

Re: 20AH 48V pack using Samsung 25R + Agniusm modules + Generic BMS

I'm interested to see how it handles the current. Isn't 12s a little low for 48v?

Re: bluetooth BMS?

In practice, what are the downsides of using the chinese BMS units as is? I'm guessing the HY3215 mosfets create more heat because they have more resistance than AOT2500 mosfets? As your amperage goes up, you risk blowing out a trace without soldering in some more copper properly? I have two of the ...

Re: Bluetooth BMS wiring and features

My Smart BMS looks to use the same PCB and app, and I bulk charge and discharge the battery through the BMS. The two flashing cells are the highest and lowest voltages, so you can tell at a quick glance. Sometimes mine aren't flashing, and I don't know why. Maybe when they're all a close enough volt...

Re: StefEbike for my wonderful disabled wife

So my goals with this build was get lots of capacity to never have range anxiety, and to fit as much of the battery as I could in the frame of the bike. I liked the direct drive hub motor, which should be best for reliability with less moving parts, and easy to install. The battery is a 14s6p LG MJ1...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

i give up. let's talk about it in 2-3 years when i replace my battery. but this discussion is completely off-topic here, and i will stay on topic here. Agreed. The proof is in the pudding :) Still good news on my front. This cycle the BMS never cut out when the battery got low, because none of the ...

Re: StefEbike for my wonderful disabled wife

Nice work! sounds like you need to make another one. Very inspiring story. Thank you! It's only a matter of time ;) as mentioned in the other topic some stuff for spot welding: welder: https://malectrics.eu/product/diy-arduino-battery-spot-welder-kit-v3-2-2-full_bundle_car_battery/ add cheap 40$ ca...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

After absorbing over an amp hour, I got group 13 pretty well matched with the rest. As I've only done one cycle so far with the smart BMS, I will just be keeping an eye on everything as I go from here, to see if there is actually any problems. This setup is actually my wife's bike, and after experie...

Re: StefEbike for my wonderful disabled wife

On her first test ride, it was already dark out, since we had to wait until after our son's bedtime. I told her to pedal like normal, and then try the throttle. I remember she just started laughing as she took off into the night! She was so glad it was a quiet unobtrusive setup. On facebook she wrot...

StefEbike for my wonderful disabled wife

My wife loves her bicycle, even if it's pretty ordinary. She hadn't been able to use it for a year since she was diagnosed with a rare lung disease called lymphangioleiomyomatosis, which mostly affects young women after having a child. I secretly built this for her, since our son loves bike trips, a...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

Possibly, but spot welding seemed too permanent to me, even if the nickel strips can be torn/drilled off and the cell ends filed down. If they actually prove to be a problem, I'll consider a more compact staggered spot welded arrangement, that might fit all 84 cells in the frame. So far, the perform...

Vruzend 52v - 58.8v charger is slightly adjustable

I thought about adding this to a couple of old threads, but they didn't seem exactly on this topic. For those hoping to get a charger they can adjust to a lower voltage with the goal of increasing lifetime cycles on their batteries, I've confirmed that the Vruzend 52 volt chargers are adjustable, sl...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

Thanks guys. Those are some really uniform voltages! Good to know that it's possible. You're right, I'm so glad I switched to a smart BMS. I was surprised how much the voltage sagged under load, and this might be attributed to the fact that I'm pushing the Vruzend 1.5 caps to 4 amps per cell, once t...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

Thanks for the reply :) I hadn't heard about different serial connections causing uneven discharging before. I made the pack myself with Vruzend v1.5 caps, and it is pretty unique, but I'm confident that I made all of the serial connections large enough though it was impossible for them to be all un...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

First post here just to share my successful BMS experience. I'm using the 14s 60a smart bluetooth BMS from AliExpress, link here . I did calibrate all 14 cell groups with a meter that read to the thousands of a volt when I installed the smart BMS. If anyone needs to do this still, the PC software ov...
