I'm sure lfp would say he's living his life to the fullest yup, each to their own....been there done that have scares to prove it, ain't all it's cracked up to be 12 months in hospital because I frocked up living life to the fullest, wasnt worth it... :: wheels of for a swim::

I would say the hardest part is keeping the smoke from coming out the controller unless you spend large on a big Kelly controller or similar...
I would go gng if your going for off-road, less head aches imho

Search A TV chassis on eBay Jay, STACKS of them, would make a perfect chassis for a kids Go kart, allot come with front swing arms too, under$200 bucks.. AC/DC Tigs are not "affordable" period...anything under a grand would worthless
Weldsmart Tigs might be worth a look Arlo about as cheap/decent quality as your likely get.
Check Timma2500 builds for examples of welds on Ali.... with a Weldsmart tig

I have always believed these gearboxes could Be made to last by running them with light weight oil for a few hundred kilometers then remove all gears from the box and have them hardened before replacing and using High quality gear oil...we did this with Gearboxes from 1/8th scale rc buggies in the m...
