Re: Battery builder concerned over building a Luna Mighty Mini Clone

6ah mighty mini packs running both hd & 02 here

10-12 miles range w/02

8-10 miles average range w/hd

short 1500w (30a) hd peaks haven't reduced range after year regular use

Re: Some comedic relief for you all.. folded lunacycle BBS02/HD wrench

install enough bb units you run into angles frame tubes won’t allow straight wrench to engage the nut one workaround is to make l shape into wrench so the handle clears frame obstructions if that’s the case here not a very good job of reshaping the wrench but can understand why someone might attempt...

Re: 52v 13.5ah Shark Pack not charging

broken welding tab would probably not allow it power system barrel connector charge port is a weak point on these packs op needs dvm (volt meter) to see voltages what where when if can make the wiring connection can often charge through the discharge side of pack bms. but dvm is needed to determine ...

Re: Did the bms drain the cell group?

some built that way

20-50ua current quiescent consumption common adds up 24/7

sometimes bleed balance circuit short or turn on and never turn off

if so channel balance resistor will be warm to touch dissipating 50-80ma

always best to unplug bms long term storage

Re: Input needed... 30mph cruise and 40-45mph top speed ebike

be realistic 2 kWh to even think about cruising 50 miles @ 30 mph 36v55ah, 48V42ah, 52v40ah, 72v28ah take your pick but there’s no way around massively heavy/large battery pack bouncing around fat tires = all-terrain cheap suspension for 20-25 mph cruise platforms best try it before you knock it not...

Re: Input needed... 30mph cruise and 40-45mph top speed ebike

overloading, over-speeding and massively overpowering bicycle components will not end well desired speeds (c30 t45) possible with rc lipo or other high c rate but range will be around 1/8 stated range goal flat level ground no wind cruising 20 mph (500w) requires a fairly massive battery pack to tra...

Re: BBSHD Speed Sensor Wire Torn Out

tire rub repair splice isn’t bad if there’s some wire to work with. yanked out of the controller is very hard to repair mostly due to potting used on controller pcb. i dug out enough to reach solder pads but also broke off important inductor component and pretty much sealed the deal for new controll...

rim hit something and broke chunk from bead.

sharp edges poked tube with 5 miles to go.

removed tire/tube then rode home about 10-12mph.

Re: BBSHD : what is this grinding?

Okay good info. I have stock programming but I do usually have it in PAS 9 . I didn't expect any damage to come from that. recommend display with watt/amp meter or insert an inline to verify but most pas 7 usually keeps things around 1000W continuous. depends how long, ambient temps and workload bu...

Re: BBSHD : what is this grinding?

1000's miles on 3qty bbshd's without any hiccups. one unit did begin to make similar noise and went away - never cracked it open. never came back - has bit more side to side play of spindle than other 2 units but otherwise working normally. bbshd is 1000w continuous power rating. pas levels 8 & ...
