Three 12volt 80watt solar panels wired in series would give you 36volts @ 80watts.
No, that still isn't how it works guys. Really?

That's not how it works

You need a grasp of watts, volts, amps, to hang with this pack

Watts = volts x amps

Lipo is now stocked at the HK USA warehouse!

Don't see any 5.8ah or 8s packs in stock yet though. There are 5ah 6s however.

^ Hell yeah.

8S HVC/LVC w/ 4 way parallel is EXACTLY what I need!

I'll take 20 to start

How big of a $$$ bribe will it take to get the first 20 off the line?

Re: Result of ICE exhaust

Activated carbon is widely used for filtering stuff out of air. I have plans to install big carbon filters in all of my enclosed EVs for cabin air. There would be no exhaust inside the cabin. Luxury cars generally have a stage of activated carbon as part of the air system. A quick look at that mask ...

This is one of those "ignorance is bliss" things I never used to think about breathing exhaust. Used to walk 10 miles a day. But then I learned how readily you absorb inhaled vapor, how the black smoke coming out of a diesel truck is ultra fine suspended particulate, how to smell the difference betw...

Re: Maximizing LiPo lifespan

I was just thinking about this; a strategy to keep the resting SOC low without hindering usability. Charging before use, instead of after use, is a logical step, and one I will be using. You can tailor the AH charged to the length of trip. Keeping it around 50% DOD when you don't expect to need it m...

Re: 4.1v lipo charging question

Well, the iCharger series has fully adjustable cutoff voltage in .01v increments (so you could do 4.15v or whatever too). Cheapest is around $100 at 10 amps, up to ~$230 for the 30 amp model

With the 3010b set on 30amp charge, 30amp discharge, I'm cycling a 1850mAh 3s Lipo pack. No breaks between cycles. Get this, the capacity is increasing by a little bit on each cycle, and it gets warm, but 138f is the highest temp on the logger so far. It tops off the cell from discharged to full in...

I know!!!! Damn!!! This is really really exciting!!! Think of those cars that got the huge sponsorships for batteries, like the guy with $100k of the Lithium Titanate batteries, or the couple of A123 sponsored drag vehicles. They all have multi-hundred pound bulky battery packs that cripple the pot...

Re: Nano-tech LiPoly finally releases at HobbyCity! 45-90C!

Luke, I think the way to get the ICE crowd bought into the concept is to first make some light and small electric boosters as a nice performance kit to add to the cars. There aren't rules to prevent that kind of performance kit are there? It seems ideal for the drag guys, and it's a perfect applica...

Re: Nano-tech LiPoly finally releases at HobbyCity! 45-90C!

Well if you're discharging at 90c, thats only enough for 2-3 quarter mile runs. You could fill a little trailer with 10kw of large (cheap) format prismatic LiFePo4 and pull it to the track, disconnect for your runs with a totally ridiculous 75 pounds of batteries on board, and then still have the ju...

Re: Nano-tech LiPoly finally releases at HobbyCity! 45-90C!

the point is so that one could charge more quickly, have the batteries last longer at a given charge rate, get greater acceleration and hill-climbing capabilities, get less voltage drop and less battery heating and thus longer life. Yeah, this is exactly it. You don't want to run electronics at the...

A really important question is what is the cycle life of this new nano-chemistry? Can one extend it time-wise or cycle-wise comparable to A123? Move over ladies, there's a new lipo whore in the parlor  Is that a spark where 2 of the leads on your charger have shorted on the bench leg or just the flash from the camera ? And that's not even all of them  Just the flash reflected off a big shiny blob of solder on the lipo tab.
