Re: 72V 3000W Cyclone Electric and Gas Generator Build (SBP kit) - Three Phase Dev

I had a motorcycle in the past. I like ebike/motorized bicycles since I can just cruise on the shoulder and do my own thing at my own pace without paying attention to cars as much. This I made to just have some fun, see how it is, and cruise around. :)

Re: 72V 3000W Cyclone Electric and Gas Generator Build (SBP kit) - Three Phase Dev

Aight guys, I am just about done with the bike. I think I coulda done a better job on the fairings and look but I just wanna ride at this point. It rode real smooth today though I might get a seat post suspension to save my balls (no suspension bike). Here is a walk around video; I only need to prot...

Re: Looking for advice for my first build

- comes with 44t and might not have aftermarket sprockets yet according to luna. gotta look into that unless you have a really large cassette. - you will want to go 20mph or more; 50-60 with assisted still means a 500-700wH battery - since u want to do some off-roading dual suspension is probably be...

Re: Hybrid Electric/ jet engine build

Nice bike. I also have built a ebike gas generator hybrid to allow me to cruise randomly for hours. I use it similar to your profile - ebike only around neighborhood, short rides, and on bike trails. Then if I want to go on longer rides I fire up the generator in either 240 (~13mph) or 420W (~20mph+...

Re: Plywood bike frame

cant out do that but here i have my 40cc 800W 4-stroke generator mounted with 2x2 green treated AC2 wood on my ebike gas hybrid. this is a big no-no in the gas motorized bike world. but it hasnt exploded from the mount yet.

Re: Help critque a build please.

I would disagree with the 500W motor and 36V. It is like a moped; you are amuse with it for a month and then want to sell and buy a real bike. Don't worry about the sound of a gearless hub motor; it is nothing compared to an actual gas bike or moped. I did wind resistance and current eBay/retailer p...

Re: 72V 3000W Cyclone Electric and Gas Generator Build (SBP kit) - Three Phase Dev

Holy smokes have you weighted that beast? officially no. yes, it is heavy but no more heavy than my mountain bike setup. estimate = 15 (bike) + 15 (cyclone ) + 35 (batteries) + 25 (generator) = 90-100 lbs. Not that bad. Recall with this setup I can go 215 miles with a full charge and a full t...

I am no expert but I will contribute based on my experience (500, 1000, 3kW ebike + 49,66cc gas bike) and hopefully spur some conversation to point you in the right direction. Also, caveat as I don't know your budget so I will assume lowest budget. 1. I went from mountain to cruiser and it is fine t...

Re: 72V 3000W Cyclone Electric and Gas Generator Build (SBP kit) - Three Phase Dev

Sorry for the spam. Next update will be completed design which will be 2+ weeks. But, I had a chance to ride it a bit more after tightening everything and I think it is solid. It rides so much smoother than my old mountain bike probably because its a new bike. The mountain bike handlebars on the cru...

Re: 72V 3000W Cyclone Electric and Gas Generator Build (SBP kit) - Three Phase Dev

I tried prepping the Cyclone for the transfer and its too far rusted to take out. The cranks wont come off and threads are just shot now. I did it properly too; its just too rusted from water intrusion. Yep, remember that stupid plastic cap on the pedal bolts. Now I know what they are for  And,...

Re: 72V 3000W Cyclone Electric and Gas Generator Build (SBP kit) - Three Phase Dev

At most without the plastic, the generator engine should be 9" tall and 10-12" length depending on the pull cord housing. I wonder how much torque you would need to electric-start an engine that small? Not much at all. A simple cordless drill can do it easily. Currently, I have the pull c...

Do you have a picture of it? I think I know what it looks like. It has a fat tire or is it that city commuter version with the 2" wheels. 36V 8.8aH is nothing. i think if you want realistic suggestions you need to give us more details and a budget. Cheapest is slamming 4x scooter batteries in t...

Re: 72V 3000W Cyclone Electric and Gas Generator Build (SBP kit) - Three Phase Dev

Okay, been riding it around for a while now. That side generator really, really attracts too much attention I think more than a regular gas motorized bicycle. I just finished a 42 mile ride today starting at like less than 50% state of charge, which for a 42 mile ride is not possible on an ebike and...

Re: What to do with a Free Sondors?

What is the voltage on that battery? I have found that 20-22 mph is the ideal cruising speed and 1000W motor is most available and economical. It also all depends on your budget but if it was me and on a budget. Assuming that the Sondors has 48V battery, I would buy a 1000W fat tire rear brushless h...

Hey, here is video of walkaround without generator on it (0:45 - 1:30). But, you can see pic below of it (don't include 420W charger). I will canvas it with a faux leather wrap as explained in video to hide all that crap and take off the power meter on top. Will look decent after I do so. :bigthumb:...

Hey guys. This probably concludes all the testing I hope to do on this bike. I finished the 420W testing and results are below in pic and video discussion. Initially, this was a 3 phase dev (additional battery, generator, wind cutting fairings) but I am not going to do the wind cutting fairings beca...
