Re: Endless Sphere Podcast
Looking for feedback and anyone that wants to be a guest. Im looking to atleast compressing the downloadable cast to a smaller format. I may consider chopping them up into smaller versions nut the conversation flows pretty well with the guests. Good thing about streaming it on you tube it picks back...

Re: 3077 or 4110
Lyen can set you up and approves the 3077 mofet at 18s 66.6v nominal 75.6v fully charged. Let him know in advanced and he will install higher voltage caps. I ran a 3077 12 mosfet controller on 18s for over a year before I changed build.

Endless Sphere Podcast
Im a long time member and builder and I recently decided to try to put some of my knowledge and opinions in audio form and create podcast that you can listen to when you are on you way to work.. on break.. in the background while working on projects. Some of them are short some of them are long. Som...

Re: Proper Kill Switch
I would try and find a jet ski kill switch. It depends on what you are going after. You can kill the main power or shunt down the MCU in the controller. They have the big red key switches ..breaker type switch. You could use a magnetic reed switch and have a like a magnetic ring on your finger or so...

Re: Quilbix raptor 140 + Mxus 3000 4t + 18fet lyen
It seems like everything is spot on. I programmed my Lyen 18 fet to 120% Throttle with 160A phase amps and 80A battery amps. Running 120% squeezed another 3 MPH out of mine. Im running 18s 66v 32AH battery and I top out at 45mph on my Mxus 4T.

Re: Magic Pie 2 making strange knocking sounds
Also in combination to the bearing not being snug on the shaft if the clearance is off or the covers are machined bad the OD of the bearing may not be seating in the side covers correctly. They may have to be epoxied in.. this wasnt an issue for me but the bearing ont the shaft was not a snug fit. O...

Re: Magic Pie 2 making strange knocking sounds
I bet its the bearing. My pie had bearing issues. The axle was slightly smaller than the bearings ID so it had some play that only gets worse. It was no where near press fit. meaning the only thing that stopped it was the internal axle shoulder. I even upgraded to SKF so it wasnt bad bearings just b...

Re: Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells
I'm discharging a 1 year old Multistar 10ah pack and I'm seeing about an 8% loss in capacity from its original test. If you go by the nominal capacity it's only lost 5%

Re: Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells
The 16AH 6S bricks are not so fortunately shaped; only 3 of them fit into a typical 19" frame bag. Yesterday I fit five 4S 16Ah packs into the em3ev bag. That is 1.2kWh. There is still room for vertical padding but laterally the bag is pretty full by now. I guess that makes sense if you fit th...

I think you missed the whole thing idea. 29 for a 10AH cell vs 24 for a 5AH cell.

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor
My Mxus 4T is vented but the data that you showed mirrors my experience quite a bit. While riding at lower speeds and watching temps on the v3 I get no real decrease in temps other than the predictable slow decrease after a hard run which is almost similar to the motor being stationary cooling off. ...

Re: Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells
4C is over my recommendation of 2.5C constant discharge. We really cant compare RC draw to ebike draw. Its apples and oranges. RC draw is more moderate high amperage constant draw with a few peaks while ebikes is a few peaks with low to moderate draw. Our average draw is well less than 1C over the d...

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor
Weight can be a blessing. The motor is already quite efficient but there is still waste heat. Mass helps the motor cope with peak power loads. Having reduction in mass to make it lighter can be hinder its continuous duty capability.

Re: improving MXUS 3000 V2
I found it more than adequate for my area which is hilly. I have a 3 speed switch on my CA to keep the speed and torque in check and even have the throttle ramping conservatively set cause it pulls so hard. Stock wires are not the weak point of this motor. However I would keep them short

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor
Lets face it PTFE and Silicone wire can carry way more current than the PVC wires. It can carry way more current cause the jacket of the wire can tolerate the temp. PVC jacketed wire startes to melt around 80C and gets soft and tacky well before this temp. The phase wires have a PTFE coating. It beg...

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor
Chris, thankyou. I'm getting lots of customers asking for upgraded phases, and new bearings on my V2 stock. I'm wondering if the inexpensive nature of this motor leads people to think it needs upgrading even for moderate use... This is a bit of a rant so dont take it personal. Im a big bloke at 350...
