Re: under down tube battery mount

It's a 2003 but upgraded with XT disks and tubeless. I will probably get a new MTB for hitting the trails so this FSR rig would be for general purpose street and gravel ebike duty. I have looked at it briefly and seems to be OK for clearance, but I will test before going forward. I have a spare empt...

Re: under down tube battery mount

Well, this is a big d'oh on my part. My bike does indeed already have water bottle bosses under the down tube. Looks like I have plenty of clearance to the front wheel and not really worried about water. I don't ride in the rain and won't be single tracking this rig through streams. There is still a...

under down tube battery mount

Thinking about electrifying my old Specialized Stumpjumper FSR that probably doesn't have room in the triangle for my 52V super shark pack. I see Luna sells a bike with a similar battery mounted beneath the down tube. Does anyone know if and where such an adapter can be sourced? See the product belo...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I got an answer from Electrify, the original levers and throttle have different connectors. I am kind of surprised that they don't supply pigtails with that convert the Tongsheng connectors to the types needed by the 850C in the "plug and play" kit. So I ordered the matching brake levers and throttl...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I already have the ST Link programmer and cable that I used to update the OEM firmware once. So I Just need to know about the brake and throttle connections before ordering. Haven't heard back from Electrify yet but I figured you would know. "Don't forget to buy also the tools for update the firmwar...

Question for OSF plug and play setup

I am going to order one of the OSF plug and play controller and display setups from Electrify Bike, probably with 850C display, but have one question: will my original LCD5 cutoff brake levers and throttle plug into this new setup? Or do I need to order those parts (or connectors to splice) that are...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I think I am finally going to jump on the Open Source bandwagon. I found the wiki... Only thing that gives me pause is cutting and splicing the wires. i wish there was a plug and play set of connectors. Also, is there a wiki on the differences in install and function for the LCD3 and 850C besides th...

Re: Tesla Model 3

Sure, lets consider Toyota. They have just a "few" other profitable models for customers to move up to bigger/more luxe, or over to trucks, or eco like hybrids and fuel cell vehicles. They don't rely on Camry folks always upgrading to new Camrys every few years. Do you honestly believe that these gu...

Re: Tesla Model 3

The question is how will Tesla sustain demand once the initial M3 rush is over? Are they expecting M3 customers to trade up to MS? Will there be incremental M3 upgrades... or some new mid level M4 or such... that will get folks to trade? And how will they make a profit long term in the cutthroat aut...

Re: Tesla Model 3

I am a Tesla skeptic mainly because I don't believe electric cars can really ever serve on a large scale for all purpose duty beyond drivers' local commuting areas and that if/when this segment becomes profitable the major car makers will eat Tesla's lunch. But... the model 3 subjectively seems to b...

raylo32, do you have a good source for 175mm crankset that will work with the TSDZ2? I haven't found a source yet. Or are you cutting up a set of cranks to get 175s?

Re: Boeing 737 Max 8 failures..an explanation ?

As a former small plane pilot I have always been leery of computer commanded stability, but this 737 Max issue where *one sensor* going off can apparently result in pilot overpowering flight "corrections" is just nuts. Grounding them seems to have been the right call until this is all sorted out.

Re: First conversion kit

Lots of good info here... I like the mids because it keeps wheel weight down, allows easier flat fixing, and you have the gears for climbing. I chose the TSDZ2 for the torque sensing that makes the rideability like a regular bike... pedal harder=go faster, although the Bafang range with PAS has been...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

TSDZ2 has a clutch/freewheel built in to the motor so, yes, you can stop pedaling or back pedal whenever you want, just like a regular bike. Hi, could you recommend me TDSZ2 motor for MTB? Which should I choose, is there a difference in freewheel clutches inside of the motor? Can I backpedal with TD...

Before I reflashed mine to 52V from the 48V firmware it came programmed with I ran it on partially charged 52V batteries that were up to ~55V. It worked fine up to that level... but the battery indicator always showed full.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Do you have the brake levers with the safety switches? If so push the levers out when this happens. On mine it takes just a tiny bit of pull (too small really) to activate the switches and cut the motor out and the return springs don't always get them where they need to be to run the motor. I am exp...

The 52V version is 100 RPM and they sell "overdrive versions that go 110/120 RPM for 48/52V versions. I am also a fit cyclist and don't really spin much beyond 90 on a pedal bike except maybe briefly. But that's just me.
