Re: Trial gears for Mac hub

I'm not actually certain of the material used in the black and grey gears and I don't recall right now whether they are a composite or not. Paul, I had a good look at the black and grey gears and I would say they are some sort of plastic without any fiber included in their structure. I'm really gla...

Re: Trial gears for Mac hub

I have only done 220km with the grey gears, they are slightly noisier than the black ones and I run 48volts and 30amps.

Kim those bars look really comfortable, I have wide shoulders and I like the wider 'Bullhorn' styles, they will look great black. I was also interested in the concrete on your patio. The red color is very pleasing to the eye. Is that color added or is it just a property of the sand they they used? ...

Great work Kim, rock solid solution I think.
Did you have to spread the two plates that attach to the Thudster base plate?

Re: Trial gears for Mac hub

I have now done 353km with the black gears and they had developed a noise that sounded like damaged gears. So I opened up the hub for a look before total destruction of the gears. As I lifted the side cover away there was a single tooth attached to it with a little grease. This is where it came from...

Re: Turnigy HXT Powered Custom Cruiser Worklog

Hey Kim, Thanks for the ride yesterday, great weather and top scenery. I am very impressed with the throttle resolution on your cruiser now, it feels like a different bike, very smooth all the way from a slow crawl to WOT. I would suggest halls are not necessary on RC setups after riding your cruise...

Trial gears for Mac hub

Much to my pleasure, Cell man has sent me two diferent sets of trial gears to test in my Mac. These gears were oringinally sent to Paul for testing and he has now asked me to do it. We don't know what sort of plastic they are made from and we have no expectations of them. http://i50.photobucket.com/...

Looking good Kim, great work.
The frame that inspired you is called the "Basman Zware Shag" seen in the following link, under Lowrider/Stretchcruiser.

I need to do some more testing with the infineon settings, it may be the block time which lets it over current for however many seconds you progr...

Very Nice bike, I just saw it on Aussie's thread, looks like it works well. Do you have the steel gear installed? How is it working so far? I have just installed a steel gear and two new nylons, as the original nylons now have no teeth. I was fully expecting the nylons gears to fail at some stage. ...

WHat voltage/Amos is he running? It's a Mac running with a 12 fet infineon and magura throttle, at 48volts, 30amp main current and 75amp phase current. The battery is made up of 16s 15ah Cellman Cells and a 80amp BMS Paul "Cellman" supplies. The cells barely volt sag at all and are always...

Re: Giant NRS/Mac hub/48v Headway build.

Me and a mate just got back from a 29km night ride, he on my cruiser and me on the NRS. He used 9Ah on the cruiser and the NRS/Mac used 8.9Ah. The Mac with a 24" rim and a 2.5" hookworm does 48kmh on the flat. I'm really happy with the Mac/infineon setup and Cell Man cells are brilliant. C...

Really? I thought it was working well? was it always stalling like that? I have almost finished the bike now, no chain and derailer yet. I put the vinyl sticker on the batt cover and went for the first test ride with the motor/controller connected correctly.
