Re: Giant NRS/Mac hub/48v Headway build.
Ok, I have got my throttle sorted by following "methods" idea of using a 1K resistor in line with the +5V and a 3K resistor inline with GND. http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10312&p=179667&hilit=infineon+magura#p179667 The throttle has no dead spots abov...

Re: Giant NRS/Mac hub/48v Headway build.
Thanks for the advice Paul. I have just discovered that one of the wires snapped off the resistor between the throttle and controller. I briefly joined the end of the resistor to the broken wire and twisted the throttle and bingo the motor fired up. It's late at night and getting down to 0 deg, so I...

Re: Programming 12Fet Infineon Controllers
I also had the experience of the flash process only working every now and then, it was very random and frustrating. Does anyone have a diagram of how to wire up a cap or external power source for the USB connector? Another issue I am having, is that I now have everything wired up and the motor does ...

Re: Giant NRS/Mac hub/48v Headway build.
I need some help. I now have everything wired up and the motor does nothing. The controller is showing 5 volts at the throttle plug and 5 volts at the red hall wire. How do I test if the phase wires from the controller have power? At this stage I don't know if I have a controller issue or motor issu...

Re: Giant NRS/Mac hub/48v Headway build.
Thanks for the well wishes and the info on pre charge resistors.
Great link Hyena.
I will do a set up, across the poles of the big isolator, like rodgah, suggested.

Re: Giant NRS/Mac hub/48v Headway build.
Thanks for the support everyone and the ranting is fine with me, makes me laugh a lot. I like seeing and hearing all the individual tastes and ideas. Cell Man, via PM, tells me it would be a good idea, with these cells and the BMS I am using, to have some kind of pre charge resistor to prevent the b...

Re: JD's BMC V3 Build - in progress
Great work with the terminations JD, and those cells are looking very safe and comfortable in that ammo box.
The bike's balance is a really good result. I look forward to seeing the big 28s pack with the X5.
Cheers,
Matt.P.

Re: Giant NRS/Mac hub/48v Headway build.
Nice boxes Matt, but that look like alot of bulk between your legs (hehe) Are you still planning to pedal ? My battery box overhangs my top tube by about 10mm on each side and which it's not uncomfortable and doesn't rub I wouldn't want it much wider. You're right there is a fair bit of bulk, but t...

Ok Kim, I did say on the phone that I would post last night however I ran out of time. :) I have made some progress on the battery box. Re: Giant NRS/Mac hub/48v Headway build.
It's time to rename this build to "Giant NRS/Mac hub/48v Cell Man cells build" I am going to use 16 x 15Ah Cell Man cells. The pack is going to be built in two 8 cell groups mounted on either side of the frame triangle. Here are the cells, individually wrapped really nicely, thanks Paul &q...

Re: Giant NRS/Mac hub/48v Headway build.
Thanks Mark. I had some clearance issuses between the Juicy 7 disc caliper and the Mac hub. I had to space the disc away from the hub with washers and then match the spacing with a washer on the axle so the caliper fitted to the mount. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e21340i/nrs21.jpg http://...

Headway BMS fire
I am reasembling my Headway 48V 20Ah pack ATM and when I got about half way through the assembly, flame and smoke started to come out of one of the BMS channels. One of the loose BMS signal wires must have touched where it shouldn't have, I guess. Once I had moved all the loose wires and blown out t...

Speaking of which does anyone have a cheap source for bare rims in Australia ? Not sure of a cheap source in Australia. I used Chain Reaction. I did an order with a mate that was over $412 so no shipping cost. So the rim below was only $38. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=262...

Re: Giant NRS/Mac hub/48v Headway build.
I did a little bit of a paint job on the Mac hub to match the red front hub.
Then I laced the hub and the rear rim last night.
There is a bit of an angle between the spokes and the nipples, hopefully all is well.
Cheers,
Matt.P.
