Re: Cyclone 1000w Cruiser
Thanks Christobel931, the shockie banana seat worked quite well. I made and fitted a battery tray today, using equal angle and square tube. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e21340i/battray1.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e21340i/battray2.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e...

Cyclone 1000w Cruiser
Ok this is my second bike build using my Cyclone brushless 1000w. The first was powered with 4 x 20Ah SLA's. Seen here; http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e21340i/IMG_5212.jpg For this build I'm using the frame from the two stroke powered bike below; http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e21340...

Yes I am stoked with build quality of this pack. Plans for this battery, are, my 1000w Cyclone kit from this old set up, (these SLA's are now history). http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e21340i/IMG_5212.jpg Is going onto this, minus the stinky motor. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e2134...

I received my Headway pack this week and thought a few people may want to see photos of the shipping packaging, optional case, cells, charger/internals. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e21340i/batt5.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e21340i/batt6.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums...

Re: Power transmission through a 3 speed hub?
For my drive through a 3S shimano hub, I machined the teeth off the hub sprocket until it was a snug fit inside a 80 tooth 8mm pitch sprocket and welded them together. The hub has handled a Cyclone 1000w with no worries. The motor has a 11 tooth driving the 80 tooth, this ratio works well with the h...

Re: High power RC motor and drive unit production
Miles and recumpence that is a brilliant idea (flat pulley). Matt what series toothed belts are you using? Are any of the round tooth belts best? Do you think 1500w through a 20 tooth 5mm pitch pulley driving a 250mm diameter flat pulley, (this should give me 8:1) using a 9mm wide belt will work? A ...

Re: High power RC motor and drive unit production
Hey Matt, Awesome work with the drive. I have just read the 44 pages of this thread and I think I read you can get custom pulleys. I want to drive my Cyclone 1000w directly to my 3 speed hub in the rear wheel using a 5mm pitch belt like you use in your drive. I currently do this with a 8mm pitch cha...

Re: Home made chain drive cruiser
I think you said that you get 57.5 km/hr in the top gear, and 47.5 km/hr, in 2nd, which is 1:1, is that right? Yes thats about right. Do you happen to know the voltage the WattsUp is reporting, when you are at these top speed points? I haven't really noticed the volts, however I don't think an accu...

It looks like Cyclone have changed the motor case of their 1000w motor. My 1000w motor, shown here http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/vi ... f=6&t=4032 has a finned aluminiun case, and yours appears smooth and painted black.
I wonder why the difference.

Re: Home made chain drive cruiser
I'd join in a group purchase of Ping duct tape packs, or more recently I've been looking at the cyclone LiFePO4 DIY packs if you're keen. Is there a group purchase happening? Have you worked out the total cost, for cyclone, 48v 20ah, bms, and charger? Thanks for the feedback on my bike Gregory. One...

Re: Home made chain drive cruiser
If you use a 11t motor sprocket and a 54t rear with no other reduction in the system, I estimate a top speed of 33 to 35kmh on 20" tyres. Aussie I have made a mistake. The 54t will give you more top speed not less. I don't know how I mixed that up. You would get around 70kmh, but it would be s...

Re: Home made chain drive cruiser
The second sprocket will need to be attached to the hub shell, or the internal gears will be bypassed. Aussie, I was wondering too, do you want to uterlise the gearing in the hub? If you use a 11t motor sprocket and a 54t rear with no other reduction in the system, I estimate a top speed of 33 to 3...

i was hoping you could help me with the gearing or point me to a formula I can follow? Have you got a diagram? Cheers, Matt.

Re: Home made chain drive cruiser
Looks like a pair of front forks were used? Yes, forks off a 20" kids huffy mountain bike that I picked up for $10 at a garage sale. The ride is much better, the shocks have taken away the sharp bumps. I like to have my tyres nice and hard for efficiency, so it was a really rough ride before. ...
