Re: Basman style cruiser with Mac and A123 20ah

I've had a bit of inspiration to finish this bike since my Giant NRS ebike got stolen last Tuesday, http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=70486 I got the 12 fet controller and BMS mounted today. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e21340i/IMG_13281.jpg http://i50.photobucket.co...

"STOLEN" Ebike Perth Western Australia

So last night at 2.10am 23 June 2015, my Giant NRS Ebike was stolen from the Perth fire station where I work. I believe this was a very targeted theft, a perimeter colourbond steel fence was cut and forced open then a cyclone wire fenced bike locker was cut open and only my ebike taken out of 3 othe...

Re: 80-100 bell set screw question

I have disassembled lots of RC motors and in my experience that flat is for the grub screw.
What does the other end of the shaft look like, is it flush with the outer bearing or look pushed in?

Re: Single speed cargo bike feasibility

I have a steel cargo bike, which I'm sure is heavier than your aluminium Bullitt, and I run a rear 12 turn Mac. This set up has given my about 2000 km of faultless service, pushes me, two children and shopping up hills no problem. I have the controller programmed for 1400w.

Re: Basman style cruiser with Mac and A123 20ah

I hope these battery covers turn out well, it's loads of work. I cut thin strips of 1mm Lexan and screwed these to the ribs, with 320 screws. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e21340i/basman42.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e21340i/basman41.jpg Then I taped most of these strips as t...

Thanks for the kind words gents. I've now finished the rear triangle and drop outs and I'm pretty happy with the stance of the bike, see the last photo with the wheels and fork. Today I'm starting the battery, controller and DC/DC converter mounting setup. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/e21340i/basman32.jpg http://i50.photo...

Re: Basman style cruiser with Mac and A123 20ah

I needed to draw up some rear drop outs so I could get them laser cut. I read about a few people here on ES using Delta Cad, so I down loaded the trial version of DC and played around with it for about 3 hours. I highly recommend it for it's ease of use. I designed a right and left drop out, both wi...

Re: Basman style cruiser with Mac and A123 20ah

Kim's bender is a roller type from Harbour Freight I believe. It works well. I think one of the US forum members purchased it for him. Mine is a hydraulc jack type with a pneumatic pump on the hydraulic jack. I believe this type work better if you fill the tube with sand and cap the ends. I'm not to...

This is shaping up to be the longest build ever! Over a year has passed since my last post, however I am determined to finish it soon. I have finally started to do some tube bending and welding. This is a mild steel frame with TIG welded joints. Some progress shots of the last two nights work. http:...

The converter doesn't get warm in my installation and I don't use a fuse with it, but using a fuse may be a good idea, it's your choice.

That dc converter will easily run that led strip.
I use the same dc converter to run a few metres of leds and a triple cree head light.

EPX Terra shark carbon frame

Purchased a Terra Shark frame today, I don't know what I'll do with it, I just had to have it. It's never been built, came with a carry bag, has a nice Fox shock and was $200. Not sure where to put batteries on it. Anyone had experience with these frames? Other forums seem to say they were ok in the...

Re: MAC or BMC geared hub motor on 96 volts?

On my cargo bike I run a 12T Mac on 20s A123 (72volts fresh off the charger) in a 26" wheel.
I have programmed it to about 2000w max to save the gears and clutch key, pulls like a train, runs efficently, no issues after 1000km, and tops out at 46kmh.
