HI Dale.. i havnt yet opened a x5,but here is a good vid of some one opening a crystalyte x4 i suspect... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkGgAWHSayU&feature=related maybe send the person on utube a email,i have before and they have been really helpful. im 99% sure you will need a 8inch 3 jaw puller....

hi kentlim.. have you tired messaging (lyen) for a controller that may work with a cyclone motor..he does specialise in controllers.. an x5 motor would be sweet,but i think range wouldnt be so great pending on your battery ah and c discharge capacity,from what i understand the x5 are power hungry,bu...

bummer leslie.. if you need acouple more cells,just ask... i was originally going to get the charger,liveforphysics suggested,seemed like the best idea, but at the time hobbyking was out of stock,+ its a $100 or so charger,but seems very handy... i have a bms for a 36v 8ah pack here i found after i ...

all the cells came from the battery containers,pictured in the begining of the thread... i did re-assemble a 36v 8ah pack,but with out the bms,as i think i stuffed the bms, so i can always undo that 36v pack i rebuilt to get more cells,if need be + i still have 2x36v lifepo4 packs here un-opened, +2...

heathyoung,

i like the way you think,sounds like a smart and very cheap alternative,
+ sourcing some of the big heatshrink stuff is hard in australia i think,..

Hi again.. thanks heaps leslie for posting all that info on welding,ect i will research it abit and see what i can make...ive just been making a acouple of cardboard cut outs of what i would like to turn into a ebike frame. i reckon maybe a stainless steel frame,bit heavy but more sturdy than alloy ...

what ya mean jay,the lipos cured my back aches i used to get when i was hauling 12kg of sla in the backpack..
it definatly has medicinal purposes,

lipos definatly rock,just wish the balancing leads where made of a bit thicker wire,but a bit of silicone seems to toughen them up

should be plenty space for the cells..

im no master,but good looking welds so far.

how much more range,will you get from adding the solar panels to charge the pack,or is it to variable to judge/estimate...

pending on the battery discharge rate you have,if there higher than 2c dicharge,maybe get a different controller and pump more amps thru it,mabye a 48v pack would help too.. theres a bit of differenrce power wise between 36v and 48v..but generaly i think electrically pumping more amps thru your cont...

hi again amberwolf.. in regards to what you wrote below Interesting looking setup; prismatic LiMn? Not sure but it kinda looks like either 3 or 6 cells per board based on those red wires, so to get 36V (10s? 12s?) there'd have to be at least two boards if 6s per board or 4 boards if 3s per board. So...

ok amberwolf here are some pics ,note the cells are for another forum member. 99% sure they are li-mn chemistry,the pack was a 36v 10ah...all the bms,s should be ok.i havnt tested them though(not sure how to).. bms,s for amberwolf 005.JPG bms,s for amberwolf 006.JPG i should at least be able to send...

cool thank jay i wasnt sure what the max voltage & amps is for the 6 fet controller.. i think its set to 30amps now with a lvc of 29-30v....so far ive only pumped 36v thru it..im going to try the 15s pack tonight... i havnt got the lead to program it yet,i will order it when i gets a 12 fet controll...

hi peoples.. well about a week or so ago,i was testing out the hall sensors on a busted hub i received. anyways as i was testing the controller,with power to the controller on thru the batteries. either the pedelec or throttle wires shorted ..(never leave any powered wiring exposed)is what ive learn...
