Re: Bafang G310 geared hub - 11:1 reduction ratio!!!

I've seen plenty of complaints of clutch and gear issues with the Q100H and Q128H. Might want to read around about these motors if you want to find out more. I did search, rather extensively, but unearthed no Q100H users who damaged gears. However, a few Q100H "hot rodders" did report clutch failur...

Re: 24V/48V UPS as an inverter for mini power-wall

I have a PowerCom ULT-1000 that originally used 36v SLAs. I tried 10s packs and it charged them to exactly 42v. Not overly efficient however, at slightly over 70% on battery power. I'm hoping to eventually find an efficient, SW inverter rated for 24Vdc below 300W, or so. Primarily to power a varity ...

WTB- Cute Q100H Motor(s)

Preferably 328 front, but will consider others. New, used or parts, or even hubs with damaged gears, damaged clutch, or toasted windings is considered, because my primary usage is for modifications and bench testing. Please PM details and expected $.

Re: Got my butt kicked today

What I realized pretty damn quick, that unlike my usual town riding style of hugging the shoulder as much as possible, I could not, due to the ice, so that's when I hit 30 +, just to stay ahead of the few cars on the 25 mph street. Makes sense right? Actually... no. When riding city streets I take-...

Rising a vehicle's top speed can be achieved using several different methods:
If you're talking speeds in excess of 18-20 mph, then improving aerodynamics should be near the top of your "to-do" list.

Word of Warning... Re: Park Tools

A bike tech neighbor handed me, what was clearly labeled, a "Park" chain pin press - very similar to my Park CT-3 in size, shape & satan black color, but it was cast aluminum and the labeling was different. It states, "Park Tool Co.", and nothing else. My genuine article states, "Park Tool CT-3 USA"...

Re: Rear Q128H planetary gears?

Do you know if the motor was hot when it failed? The mechanical strength of the plastic gear material drops with temperature. I'm trying to think if there is a way this kind of failure could be prevented. Also note, the differing gear ratios suggests that the lower ratios gears in the 201 and 260 h...

Why reinvent the wheel? Over the years, i've managed to periodically score 4 high quality bike trailers, originally designed for hauling kids. Mostly yard sale finds. All are aluminum framed (the 2 Burleys are 6061-t6), the Xterra has suspension, and all have 20" aluminum rims and protective canopie...

Re: Are these good tires?

Tire height is directly analogous to suspension travel. Tire width isn't Tire sidewall height has specific limitations (I.e. frame and fenders), so little can be employed to enhance ride quality beyond making sidewalls thinner. Budget, low tpi tires add extra sidewall rubber, which not only increas...

Re: Are these good tires?

Remember the ride quality of a tire is more closely correlated to the height of the tire out from the rim than to its width. Actually, ride quality is a function of inflation pressure, tire width and sidewall stiffness (thicker side walls typically induce a harsher ride). Narrower tires are brutal ...

Rewind a $90 motor??? I don't think so. I never said or implied I would rewind - just curious if anyone had. However, I'm not in agreement with the $90 relationship you impose. I'm inclined to think that the less one initially spends on the product, the more one can spent on improvements - assuming...

Cute Q100H - 20" (406) Build

I bought a 328 Q100H to spin a 20" (406) front wheel. I have a few battery choices: several 36V 4Ah packs, and a few 58V 4Ah (14s) packs. I'm pondering a Phaserunner, but still undecided. After reading, literally, countless hours of Q100 threads here, I've yet to discover any disassembly images, or ...
