Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I wish there was some "secret" button combination .....so the bike is legal for everyone else. with OSF this is called "street mode" :) Where is the option though? I can't find it on the 850C. There is a menu item to set the max assist speed, but nowhere could I find a toggle fo...

Re: New

The TSDZ2 doesn't really have the power to go beyond 25MPH on most bikes with 2" wide tires. Even w/o having tried it yet, but 750W peak is hardly enough to even reach 25mph (40km/h). From my other bikes i know it takes around 1kW to go that fast. But don't you think that gearing it a bit high...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive and 850C and SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Hi Guys, I am building my electric mountainbike and really hesitate between an TSDZ2 with cfw or a BBS02. I understand TSDZ2 is maybe a bit less reliable, especially blue gear, and less powerful, but the feeling is better, as the power given by motor is really synchronized with the effort on pedals...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive and 850C and SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

If I’m looking to buy a tsdz2 motor is there a recommended hardware setup that would allow the most freedom when running the open source software? I’d like to have a 750W, 48V mid-drive that will accommodate a rear coaster brake. I’ve seen someone state that one of the 36v versions Converted to 48v...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive and 850C and SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Improvement to Battery SOC On current version of firmware, there are 2 different ways for calculating the battery SOC: 1. based on battery voltage and 2. based on Coulomb counting (counting the used watts from the battery). Method 1. is not very precise and 2. is very good for my experience as also...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

2nd update: They had made some minor changes to the controller for a Euro customer, but this is nothing major for anyone, and not even an improvement. Basically no new motors or controller etc... Well, no changes is also good news as others look to my ebike and they like it, they say the motor is s...

I flashed mine with a CH340 after accidentally frying my CP2102. I left the jumper open so I don’t know if my vcc was 3.3V or 5V on the CH340. BIT it worked without damage. Your error has to do with windows not able to grab the com port to the serial adapter. I have a 850c with shot serial lines an...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I have installed BBS02 systems on two different recumbent trikes. I use the Bafang Programming software to tune these up, and make backups of the configurations. Works very well. But I am spreading my wings and am about to install a TSDZ2 system with the open source firmware v19 and the 850c displa...

Has anyone noticed a price increase on TSDZ2 kits? Seems like they've gone up $50-$60 USD since December 2019?
There is apparently a “new and improved” 2020 version. Maybe that’s why it’s more expensive?

Man that sucks. Are you using a speed sensor connector, or DuPont wires with heat shrink tube at the ends? If DuPont, maybe you’re not getting a good connection and should try with a speed sensor extension cable so you get the proper connector and good contact. If your speed sensing works correctly...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Is there any way in the software to turn down/off the extra motor time when you stop pedalling? I assumed this was how long it took for the “timeout” to occur from it sensing any rotation anymore, but I’d love that option too if feasible. It would make not shifting under load without a gear sensor ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive and 850C and SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

At first I used the 5V from the usb dongle, connected to the power booster. But after melting down my CP2102 by pulling too much because I set the power booster too high, I switched to an external power supply for the voltage booster so I don’t fry another serial adapter. I also had the error 30h o...

A short heads up regarding the battery stock in the EU. I spoke with UnitPackPower and they said that the corona virus is making imports difficult. I'm still waiting for a 52V 17.5Ah battery pack. Meanwhile, does anyone else have a different choice on batteries, 52V preferably? I just ordered a TSD...

General question I just installed a 36v tsdz2 motor and 850c display that came pre flashed with v19 of the OSF. Is there any physical difference between the 36v motor (as identified by sticker in motor case) and the 52v motor ? Are they the same motor. ? I’m wondering if I should have gotten the 48...

I think the no assist without rotation is for people who don’t want or can’t have brake sensors installed. This lets you rest on foot on the pedal with brakes applied, ready to go when the light turns green.

Would it be possible to use something like ESP32 to send and receive signals and a cell phone app for display and controls?
I remember seeing a video of someone putting a bluetooth module onto the motor itself, and then using a phone app as the TSDZ2 display.

Hi Yes, I'm getting samples of upgraded bottom bracket spindles made from EN24 thru hardened steel, if they perform I'll get a small batch done. Email me at dave@revolvemcr.com if you're interested. Cheers Dave Can you show on a picture which part you’re upgrading? I have difficulty visualizing it.
