Re: Hi Guys! Just saying hello.

Have a look at JennyB's bike,Shadowfax.
It's discreet with the battery and controller in the removable seat bag.
The 350W geared hub motor freewheels and pedals without drag.
Because it's made for pedaling its range is unlimited.

Re: Wearing a motorcycle helmet

Amazing a fairly cheap bike helmet got stolen anywhere. Used, they go for a couple bucks in a thrift store, and still don't sell. A full face motorcycle helmet makes a dandy shopping basket to me. Or it rides in the cart if buying more than a headfull.. . A very wise person once said "never eat any...

Re: Help with 1st E-Bike

Hello and thank you in advance for all the help that I have already received from this forum. I am going to be building a commuter e-bike for my DUI brother. It will be a permanent thing not something for a 6-month spell. . . . . Thanks for reading and I really hope I can get some good feedback. Al...

Re: Noob Cautionary Lesson

There's no battery, controller or wires visible in the video. Being behind police tape, it's not likely that they were stolen already. Let's hope that the driver realises what they've done and turns them self in to the police. Next best would be if somebody else turns them in. I've not got much fait...

Re: Anyone drive their ebike standing on the side?

Our laws in British Columbia state that a bicycle isn't to be ridden unless you are astride the saddle. It's a sort of law against scorchers, free-stylers and other hooligan types who've always given us cyclists all a bad name. [snark] Anyway, I engaged a bicycle mounted constable in conversation an...

Re: New xtracycle edgerunner cargo bike - what do you think?

That's the bike I mentioned back in May this year: http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=39968 I'm glad to see it's making to market. It doesn't look like the torque sensor BB is going to be in the production models. You can be sure it's going to ride sweet. Sam Wittingham has bee...

Re: Cameras Are Cyclists’ ‘Black Boxes’ in Accidents

I'm not sure all of our police are as enthusiastic about the use of cameras when their behavior becomes questionable. You might need a live video stream to a secure server in order to preserve evidence they'd rather not see. I googled, "would a micro sd card survive being swallowed." Sounds like......

Re: Spotted on Main St.

Heres what I found about the story:
The EdgeRunner Series: The Future of the Cargo Bike
This blog entry has lots about electric cargo bikes, Justin and Xtracycle's plan to partner with him and E-Zee.
It also mentions their work with Sam Wittingham as the subject of a future article.

Re: Spotted on Main St.

I find that on some canal paths here in the uk there are certain barriers that you have to lift your bike around, they are there to stop people taking motorbikes on the paths I think, but these long tails would be practically impossible to live with in this case. Why don't people who need to do som...

Re: Radish

Nope, it's not a Radish. It's an entirely new frame.
I'm not sure if Xtracycle was already developing a bike with a 20" rear wheel or whether it's been developed, from the ground up, as an electric cargo bike.

I'll have to find out more from Justin.

Spotted on Main St.

I saw a new longtail on Main St. Justin was riding by but stopped briefly to chat and show me his new bike. It's TIG Cro-Mo frame branded Xtracycle. I'm not clear on whether this is a finished product ready for production or still developing. It has a 20" rear E-Zee wheel that lowers the deck for be...

Re: Ebikes.ca/Ezee 48V Flat packs: Yea or Nay?

I've been running two of the 8 AH, 3C rated packs, in parallel, for probably two years now. I'd like to have two of the newer 5C packs but these are still going strong. After eating many, many, bad batteries from China, Justin settled on the Ezee packs because they are the most reliable. You can't g...

Re: XtraCycle is on the road

Welcome to the wonder of longtails. It's hard to not love the ride of Xtracycles. It's the handiest and most useful bicycle accessory I've ever purchased. Adding a motor makes Xtracycles even better. Your battery placement looks pretty good for weight distribution. You'll have fun adding and moving ...

A five liter, cast iron, Le Creuset, dutch oven is what most does of my cooking. Ohf**k, Le Creuset... man a good sized one sets you back about $300. Coleman is no more than $30 plus a little TLC on your part.. meh...cast iron is cast iron 8) enameled would be nice tho.. maybe I'll try to wi...

Re: What did you cook today??

I’ve read that cooking them in acidic concoctions inhibits the reasons for cooking which is to break down the complex starches into simpler forms that the body can digest. Supposedly that's also what some baking soda added to them when cooking will help do, too. It does appear to make at least a di...

Re: Questioning owning a car any longer

First, I wouldn't want a woman who doesn't ride a bike. It cuts through a lot of crap when you're getting to know each other. All of my girlfriends have nice bums and ride bicycles. If a girl is afraid to get sweaty and her hair messed up, it is a bad sign. My last car went to charity in 1997. After...

Re: What did you cook today??

Nothing yet today but I think it's time for another bucket of chili. I usually cook once a week and then reheat the leftovers. There's about four different dishes I do like that. Some days I only snack on cheese and fruit or buy a prepared pasta dish. Here's a couple images of earlier culinary endea...

What was your lane position? Drivers look only where they expect to see traffic, ie. not the gutter or bike lane. This is very true. I have a VERY hard time believing you are not incredibly visable wearing that neon green jacket and with high power headlights. Those jackets are blinding. I wouldn't...
