Re: LiFe companies

Can you give more info on DLG? Acronym? I have heard of K2.

One of my buddies went to a show in Shanghai a few weeks back. He stated that there were a few companies making flat LiFe cells, so we may see them here soon.

Re: Building an ebike

The extra weight could play a part in the wheel breaking in faster (spoke stretch), but it would only effect the ride and not braking with a disc. I have been building wheels for about 14 years though, so keeping a wheel true, dished, and round isn't too hard for me anyway.

Re: Building an ebike

A disc brake will not mess with the true of the wheel, and even so it doesn't matter very much for the brakes to work. I think you must be referring to keeping the wheel axle centered in the dropouts, and on vertical dropouts it would be a chore without dual pensioners on the axle like a motorcycle.

Re: My first conversion

Bigger, but still able to throw in my car. That little bike was quite the hassle, always trying to pull wheelies on me. I already have version 2 in motion, same electrics with different parts. I need to beef up the frame a bit more (new downtubes and headtube) and it will be ready for paint and pane...

My first conversion

I had wanted an electric bike for a long time. I figured the easiest way to make my first was to throw some parts together that would amount to junk, just in case it didn't work. Well it did work, and now I am working on version two! 4035 Scorpion motor Scorpion 100a 6s ESC 6s a123 servo tester modu...

Re: The E-cumbent - A project by Matt Shumaker

Awesome project. I come from an RC background as well so I am very familiar with the components. My first build uses a 4035 outrunner and 6s ESC. Hauls me around just fine, although a bit anemic for my pleasures.

LiFe companies

I gather that we have a few choices for LiFe around here, more companies than I have seen listed on other forums for sure. I assume these are all manufacturers. a123 Headway Saft Valence Anybody else I am missing? I see a lot of RC carryover here. I just finished my second version of a mini bike usi...
