Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Well, I picked up the super moto wheel kit from Luna today. Since I spend most of the time riding to and from work, this will make it a much better commuter bike. I'll probably keep the gearing low so it tops out at 35mph instead of 45mph. I could use the extra torque

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
That sounds fun! Mine only has a cutout on the rear brake, not front. I’ll have to try a hard launch now
All in all I’m certainly still loving my bike. It’s tough to put many miles on it between the weather and only living 2 miles from the shop, but I ride it to work every day possible.

Instant fame on YouTube
What I don’t have is a lot of spare time. My own hobbies have been on hold since having kids, that includes wrenching and riding bikes as much as I would like.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
I didn't crack the pack open to check the cells before starting the charge, as I didn't consider the pack would be so dead on a brand new bike. At first I figured it was something I was doing wrong and didn't have the instructions to clue me in until weeks after. Only then did I fully understand wha...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
The customer service issues really should be in the Vendor Relations Corner section of the forum and please follow the rules there. Any idea what was really the problem with the battery? Seems like there was a drain that took the cells below the LVC, which should never happen. Indicates a possible ...

Fine fine, first yield at 150 and first fail at 280.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
I'm pretty sure they will do me right if an issue comes of my battery. I wish I could say that they made it clear from the beginning, but I honestly never even got a positive affirmation on this, but they also didn't refute me when I told them I was confident they would handle an issue if it arose. ...

Re: 2018 Torque Arm Tests, Splined Interface Design and Tabbed Washers
It is my understanding that steel will always spring back as long as it is not pushed past the yield point. The splines should yield in the contact patches until enough contact area is made to distribute the force along multiple teeth, and from there on out it will always have the same contact area....

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Mine had 73% charge, it's down to 40 something now with quite a bit of use. This feedback from other buyers why my interactions seem sketchy. I receive a battery that is so dead that the SOC display won't turn on and Luna's response is that they are all shipped in a low SOC. So low that the BMS had...

Re: 2018 Torque Arm Tests, Splined Interface Design and Tabbed Washers
........ I find it quite refreshing to see tests showing the torque arms doing what the final goal is , and yet there is still heavy discussion on why it won't work  Love you guys!! Aaahhhh, but the goal was 200Nm. Justin is not there yet. He's got it close though. :D The mild steel failed at ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
This isn't the place to discuss service issues? Where would Luna prefer, on their own forum where it can be deleted at any time? Nope, this is exactly the place for it to be shared. My side is that I got nothing but attitude and gaslighting. Luna's side is that they offered a refund... on a bike tha...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
[...... I'm also feeling like they're kind of blowing me off...but I don't know, don't want to assume anything. I got the same vibe when I opened a ticket for my bike being shipped with a totally dead battery and the air switch turned on, I figured it was smart to alert them after the bike went int...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China
cool video but where is all the gear or chain whine comeing from ? this diffinetly sounds louder than a hub or even the c3000w mid drives ? it could be that the belt or chain is doing all the high rpm reduction as their is no gearbox. whereas on the c3000w type mid drive ebikes its done inside the ...

Got the email, thanks! I'll get back to you asap, we should definitely meet up and you can take this thing for a test ride. I suppose I could let the PMs go back on here. Used to be nuts trying to keep up with them, but since I"m not actively selling stuff for ebikes any longer it probably woul...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China
Anybody gotten past 1600km? I have concerns about the front hub flange stress cracking because of the spoke diameter, and we always saw the fractures or spoke head failure around the 1600km mark. The length of the spokes in a 19" may be the saving grace, but the flange width is not really wide ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China
Got it figured out. Green wire with black stripe that loops out of the battery monitoring harness, it needs to be uncut. There is also a limp mode when the battery is low. balance charge plus connecting the green wire together got plenty of speed and power. Yehaw!

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China
Yeah, there is a chance I'll build wheels again. I just dislike the volume of space the rims take up. I was actually thinking a set of 17s for off road would be pretty sweet since I don't need the top speed. I'm going back to school this month for engineering, gonna give another shake at controllers.

The motor is finned. It sounds like a trap controller, too thunky between poles to be sine. I'll certainly be looking for methods to get more amps.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China
There is an extra loop on the battery monitor plug , and cutting that brought the speed down to 10kpmh. There is a red wire in the battery area with a fuse, disconnecting that prevented the bike from booting up. I was told it is "a wire" that gets cut by the rep, so there's that. I'll get ...

Also wanted to mention, the battery was totally dead. Wouldn't even allow a charge or display SOC. After 3 charger resets it started. Gonna keep an eye on capacity, makes me wonder if it sat that way for a few months.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China
I got one from Luna and the speed restriction was still on. Anyone know the procedure to get full speed? I nipped the green wire above the battery and speed went from 40kmph to 10kmph top speed, so that didn't seem to be the right one, lol! Looks decent so far. Not impressed with wheels, but they at...

Re: Moped Rims and Wheels, 36 hole, 16" 17" 18" 19"
Been a while fellas! We just got a short shipment of 17" "rear" style rims for large hubmotors. We also have plenty of 12ga compatible nipples, along with 10ga precut spokes and nipples for cromotor size. Because of the warehouse space required for rims, and since my spoke machine is ...
