Re: 600W 10-60V to 12-80V converter

These things look quite good if you believe the specs. A quick analysis shows their specs to be worthless BS. Total crapola... Blue wattmeter is the voltage from the 12V 500W ATX power supply. Red wattmeter is the voltage to the 20s lipo battery. A strange noise is starting from 6A onward. I don't ...

Good to see you attempt to do repairs. Take pics & document on ES. :D

It might help the other guy that just fried his Ping charger by plugging it in.

Edit: I might be able to get one of these desktop chargers at wholesale price. http://docs-europe.electrocomponents.com/webdocs/070a/0900766b8070af54.pdf I wonder if I could bulk charge the two pings using a single of these chargers? Just one of the 38v-50v at 6A charge would allow you to charge ea...

Picture of the Wires and ping's diagram Attached below. In the pic the load is at the top, and the XLRs are the charge plugs. The picture of the wiring does not show all the wire connections below at the bottom of the pic. I can't understand "the connections" without seeing the rest of the wiring b...

Did Ping do all the wiring w/connectors & diodes for you, so all you have to do is connect the plugs correctly? Everything fits just one-way w/no other possibilities to connect differently?

I would like to build a car battery out of a123 cells. if i understand it correctly i will need some sort of voltage regulator and a 4S BMS? What do ya think? Possible? Useless? I am having problems at wintertime when temps go down to 20 below centigrade. What would be the impact on using lipo at t...

Re: A123 AMP20M1HD-A Battery pack kit

OK, have changed traces to 2mm for 6 amps. Got the bolt holes reduced from 3.5mm to 3.1mm for less play while assembling. Need to figure out how to round the edges on soft. Good ideas. Thanks for making that trace change too. 8) I agree with you too about A123 continuing to survive in business. Eve...

Re: What charger to get?

So my iCharger 206B went under. While connecting balancing wires got a spark on the port and now it shows voltage error on 6S port. Other ports works fine. Re: Dual ping chargers - fuse issues.

Do you know what the voltage was before you did that charge??? 90v HoC, so 45v each on 36v nominal. I'll rig an emergency trickle charge up right away. Cheers. -t So full charge is 45v, which means this is a 12s battery. 12s x 3.75v = 45v. You might want to search ES on Ping BMS and learn fast how ...

Re: Dual ping chargers - fuse issues.

When ridden last the batts had a combined resting voltage of 76v after having used 17Ah on the road following a full recharge. 36v x 2 = 72v nominal. How is it possible to use 17Ah, which is the beyond the normal limit of using 16Ah for not stressing the battery, and, yet, you still have 76v on the...

I have last question before i send files for manufacturing about PCB's. Perhaps would be neater if i round the edges of PCB's. I thought it would be better if someone decides to heat shrink the pack not to have sharp edges. Let me know ASAP. Thanks I think rounding the edges is a good idea. :D Btw,...

Re: Dual ping chargers - fuse issues.

Charger can use 90-265V, and was even supplied with europlugs, so our 230v grid should be fine.
Is there a switch for the voltage range? Many chargers have a switch for 110v or 220v, so you have to select correct voltage.

I know ES member "dnmun" will help you with charger repair help. Send him a PM with link to this thread.

Also, Heathyoung might offer some advice/help, as he knows chargers & is recovering from a bad eBike crash. Not sure how well he feels or can type though? ;)

Thought I would share one of my solutions for a fuse holder/antispark connection, each fuse can be 30A so its quite configurable so 90A per total fuse, a pullable link could be used for quick disconnect. Are you using two chargers on the same charge at the same time? If yes, then try using only one charger to charge. Reverse polarity?
