Re: Ebike batteries to help charge cabin..
The BMS doesnt reduce amp from the battery, it just cuts it when it gets too high. That being said, I thought the mppt controller limited the current based on max output...? That was how I was planning to charge a 12V battery with a 66V battery that is capable of 450A at least. I have not got around...

Re: Long range off-road adventure bike? Max efficiency
Unfortunately there's not much to choose between if you want torque sensored mid drive for 100mm+ bottom brackets. Do not get the tsdz2 unless you really like broken spindles. The lightest.bike kit as mentioned before looks super interesting, but I dont think they are shipping those out yet. Its alw...

Re: Maxarya Ray 2 Semi Recumbent w/high efficiency mid drive
Ah, I see. Will be interesting to see what you come up with. I have a bike running a Aikeema 75sx, and ordered a Bafang G370 for the other bike. Efficiency on the Bafang is quite poor, and I have no idea about the Aikeema. They are smooth and light, which was important for me. Alway looking for bett...

Re: Maxarya Ray 2 Semi Recumbent w/high efficiency mid drive
Have you ever considered mounting one of those small kickbike dd hub motors as mid drive? Just shave off the wheel-part and it should be quite small.

Re: Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers
Before referring to ports (which is easy) I'll say your config is correct and its at top parameters, the jitter is at maximum and so the other values of calibration, you shouldnt touch them if the motor is spinning smoothly because they are meant only for phase sine wave timing (flux weakening RIGH...

Re: Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers
So, its my first post but Ive been reading ALL of this thread... first and most important I must say that new 4th generation Votol EM-50/100/150/200/250/300 has NEW firmware (.bin) that behaves differently, in older votol (still in stock) the values in flux and % slots were put the same and was abo...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release
Agreed. We will aim to support inputting higher PAS pole capabilties in future releases. Any news on this, or other smart workaround? I have a 36 pole torque sensor on one of my bikes. Im using 18 pole setting for now, and just use half the assist numbers and divide all the statistics in 2. It work...

Re: Middrive e bike v. car drag race
I would never go back to tubes on my trailbike or fatbike, so not feeling the hate. The amount of flats out in the woods has dropped to pretty much zero. Its sometimes a mess to set up, but its much better than fixing flats on the trail. Would never used it if I had to pay someone to set up or fix i...

Re: Polaris 6x6 diesel(!) conversion build log
Got around to install the Cycle Analyst yesterday. This Votol controller has been a pain to set up, as some of the parameters on this EM150sp seems to do completely different things than the same parameters on my one year old EM150sp. I finally got it to run decent, then wired it to be always in spo...

Re: KTM 200 exc goes electric
I guess I read a little too fast, I thought you had 2V sag in the system. But 1V in the wires is not bad at all. If I had known I would have kept it to 25mm2 as well. I just went with the same size wires that I found inside the Outlander pack, but I guess that was a bit overkill.

Re: KTM 200 exc goes electric
Wait, what? You are running 25mm2 main cables and only get 2V sag at 300A+? Oh man, I wished I did some more research before I went with 50mm2 on mine. Much less PITA to work with 25mm2  Very impressive numbers, btw! Seems like I should turn up the amps on the wifeys china ATV with the same mot...

Re: Polaris 6x6 diesel(!) conversion build log
Thanks! Yes, construction beer is mandatory! The LEV40 cells are easy to wirk with and puts out a decent amount if power, but they are not very energy dense. I dont remember, but I think the leaf modules you use are much better. Looks like a pain to worknwith, though... I think these cells have a st...

Re: Polaris 6x6 diesel(!) conversion build log
So, got the main switch and main fuse wired up, and got to do a test run. Had a lot of fun with trying to figure out the Votol controller, but at least it runs fine now. I re-used the old emergency stop switch as a park switch, and made a revere/normal/sport switch to go with it. Normal mode has sof...

Re: Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers
You can use hdc to limit rpm instead, that is how it worked for me at least. You already have it set to 6000, so I guess you get 6000rpm? Interesting that they set the flux-wekening to 4000, 6000 and 10000. I think the manual says max 3000. When you have it up and running I think you should try to ...

Ask QS for a fresh reprogramming file So, I got response from QS the other day! A new file with weird values on page 2 (except from the max Amp settings, that was 150A). They confirmed that the FW settings are correct, and i should not touch them. They did not say why they differ completely from wh...

Thanks for the reply, Lars. I have sent a request for a new parameter file with correct setup. I did try with the setup from my other controller, but it is ...

Re: Polaris 6x6 diesel(!) conversion build log
Some progression.... I am once again surprised how much time it takes to assemble the battery pack, even if these LEV40 cells are rasy to bolt together. Got the battery boxes welded to the ATV IMG_19122020_215348_(1000_x_750_pixel).jpg Got the 2" spacers for the rear wheels. Needed them to get ...
