Re: Unable to connect baserunner to computer

My baserunner connects without plugging in the motor. Does the LED light up or blink? As for the hall sensor wires, as long as you dont mix up 5v and 0v, it should not matter, the controller should figure it out during autotune. 5v should be red, and 0v should be black, those are the important ones....

Re: New Generations of BB Torque Sensors (Bafang and Sempu)

Look at that, thanks man! It looks like it is an erider with a modified flange to accept the cyc freewheel (says erider on one of the drawings). Im actually testing a new setup with this now. I found the wiring diagram, but had to try to calibrate the torque/V manually. Looks like I missed a little,...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Anyone wants to have a guess what went wrong with my controller? Lots of smoke and smell πŸ˜‚

Almost went to 1000km (982). After a few km with level 0 assistance, I turned it back on and it released the smoke. No idea why, its been reliable until then...

Faulty baserunner?

Hi, guys. I recently received a new stand alone baserunner and a bafang g310 motor from Grin, and another small motor, Aikema 75sx. Both motors and the baserunner have the standard 9-pin connector. I have problems getting the motors to run sensored. When I run autotune, I get error "blue hall f...

Re: My attempt at lightweight, torque based EMTB

Got some parts this week! Together with the baserunner, I got a bafang g310 and a aikema 75sx. The "big" one is the bafang... the aikema is seriously small! IMG_12092020_210120_(1000_x_750_pixel).jpg Decided to try the aikema on the FS bike. Its only 1.4kg, so if it has enough power it wil...

How to calculate torque?

I have one of these on the way (200 rpm version): http://www.topbikekit.com/144kg-akm75sx-36v250w-ebike-front-driving-hub-motor-203236-holes-p-905.html It will be paired with a baserunner and a 36V battery. I have found some different maximum torque values, from 32 to 40NM. How do I figure out what ...

Re: 42t Lekkie with 11-42 Fat Bike.

Ive been using SLX M7000-11 for my 10 speed 11-46 cassette. Shimano recently also came out with a new Deore series that is redesigned to work with up to 46 tooth cassettes. It depends on the terrain, Im running a 34 tooth chainring and a 11-46 cassette. Would not want any bigger chainring for the re...

Re: My attempt at lightweight, torque based EMTB

Its been a little back and forth with motors on this bike, but when the tsdz2 burned, I needed to put something together on the FS bike again. I already had a torque sensor and freewheel from the CYC X1, a cycle analyst, and a MY1018 brushed motor. So I converted a bracket to fix the motor to the fr...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

So, today something strange happened to one of my TSDZ2's. I was out on a trail with a friend that was on an analog bike, so I turned off the assistance (power still on, assistance to zero). After a while I wanted some assistance in a steep climb, so I switched it up to 2, while I was pedaling hard....

Re: TSDZ2 120mm Axle Broke for the 2nd time on my Fatbike

Ah, yes, crank arms of course :) Did 30km with rocks and roots today. Did try to test it by landing jumps with all the weight on the pedals, until a spoke in the rear wheel gave up and I had to baby it home. I never treated the old spindle that hard, it just broke while I was loading up the front fo...

Re: TSDZ2 120mm Axle Broke for the 2nd time on my Fatbike

I think the endurace bearings are a good idea. I think it would be quite easy to fix the axle with just using spacers between the pedal and the outter spacers. Silicone or even just some all weather grease should keep the water out from between the inner race and the spindle. You might actually have...

Re: TSDZ2 120mm Axle Broke for the 2nd time on my Fatbike

It would be a good idea to have the spindle heat treated while it’s out. Yes, probably 😬 I have no way to heat it enough and no idea how much, so I didnt do it. That's not good to hear at all, I can't believe it's not hardened. But please keep us updated how things hold up. Did you give any regard ...

Re: TSDZ2 120mm Axle Broke for the 2nd time on my Fatbike

I measured my standard 68mm spindle here and the grooves are 14.1mm deep the same as yours. It looks like your fatbike ones are wider too, did they supply wider circlips or are they loose in the groove? The standard spindles take 1.2mm thick circlips which are a little hard to find here as 1.5mm se...

Re: TSDZ2 120mm Axle Broke for the 2nd time on my Fatbike

So I got the new spindle yesterday. Cant see any difference to the old one. The edges in the grooves are still sharp (in one of the grooves looks like the tool has been damaged, so the bottom is not straight. Dont think it is intentional). Re: pedelec conversion with torque sensor

Have you considered the tsdz2? It has torque sensor and you can get it with a really discrete display. If you like to tinker a bit it gets even better with the open source firmware. There are some quality issues of course, but unless you are a really big guy og going a lot offroad I it should be fin...

Yeah, that was the one I was searching for, but didnt find any places to buy from which seemed like a serious site. Anyway, I have ordered a Bafang g311 and a baserunner, that I will be mounting as a mid drive. Seems like Grin is quite busy atm, so just need to be a little patient....

Posting a picture of your phaserunner setup would help. Im no expert, but sounds like at least your phase amp settings are low.

Re: My1018 brushless alternative?

Thanks! Most of the noise was definately the gear reduction growling. I have a cyclone 3kw (running only 600w@35v) on my fatbike now until I receive some other oarts, and its whisper quiet compared to this. Maybe its something wrong with the my1018. I tried to find the one with vertical gears when I...

Re: TSDZ2 120mm Axle Broke for the 2nd time on my Fatbike

Yes, I am aware. The depth of the hole was discussed earlier in the thread, as it was drilled past the groove. Somewhere on the way, the design has changed, as shown in the picture. However, it still breaks in the groove, of obvious reasons πŸ˜‹ ... I will check the groove on my new spindle if they hav...

It looks like they have reduced the depth of the bolt hole. This is from a 100mm unit bought in May. Didnt keep it from breaking, though.... I will receive a new spindle in a few days, will post some photos then.

I havent tested the complete kit, but I saw it last year and ordered a my1018 motor to try. Used it first as a throttle/cadence pas setup (the fatbike), then I used it to try out a torque sensing BB and freewheel setup from CYC (the FS bike). (Both setups is just thrown together for testing so sorry...

~88kg. Guess around 95 with camelback and other equipment.

I would think bottoming out 160mm suspension on the other bike is a lot more weight on the pedals. Im not jumping the fatbike, but it is a hardtail, so maybe the shockload is higher after all...?

Have you been on ebikes.ca website and played with the simulator there? The g310 motor is included in the presets, so you can simulate all kinds of scenarios. It is also a really great recording of a live session about motor efficiency in the news section over there that answers a lot. I am pretty m...
