Re: Moon Saddle users?

dear dancer is exactly right. You'd be surprised how often the seat to human junction is used to control the bike. I have three different kinds of that concept of saddle, so I'm obviously sold on them. I'd find longer rides without one impossible, and a lot of bikers ask me where to get one, so they...

Re: Trucks on their own routes lightweight, elsewhere.

I'm not really clear on why government would have an anti trucking bias as part of its' natural adgenda. There is some inherent inequality with respect to rail vs. trucking, as the rail industry has to build and maintain its rail lines, therefore having to pay much more of the true cost of their inf...

if there was only some way to objectively measure the whole picture...ummmm...we'd all be spending less tax?

NO. Not really,

You'll be paying for life for the infrastructure in total, while some venture capatalists will suck you dry.

Re: Trucks on their own routes lightweight, elsewhere.

Hey Zoot! Love you man! You're absolutely right. If we had made GM buld their own roads...What then? That would have been a mistake. Ford...fuggetaboutit! Make the bike guys make their own roads...make the trike guys make their own roads. Of course not. The railway travesty is the worst. But here in...

Trucks on their own routes lightweight, elsewhere.

We won't make truly great strides in transportation without segregating incompatible vehicles. How can semis coexist with nevs? No way! Almost in the same manner as rail has been a seperate entity, we will idealy move toward that segregation. Perhaps not in our lifetime, but in the foreseeable future.

Re: Torque Arm Installation Query!

Honestly, you have a 24v. motor, and have tightened the axle nuts properly, you're not likely to need a torque arm. Justin le from ebikes.ca is doing testing on that topic, and has a current thread here if you look around.

All bets are off if you've ever spun the axle in the existing fork, though.

Re: Strongest seat post rack

There are implications to the seat post itself if the weight gets excessive. I think it may work well to find two racks that nest well on each other and clamp them one over the other on the seatpost. If you were to do that and add struts between the two, I think the major limitation would be seatpos...

Re: Going to charge my 74v lipo's commando style!!!

So, the first charge cycle was beautiful. I kept the current low. There was no need to even charge at 1C...no rush. None of the batteries even got slightly warm. There's no reason why they would at that rate. The lipos didn't make me as nervous as the banana plugs connected to 82vdc. Those plugs jus...

Re: Going to charge my 74v lipo's commando style!!!

Thanks for the input. etard, They're lipo's. I don't expect to discharge at a high rate, in fact I'll use the cycleanalyst to keep peak output to 20amps. As familiarity breeds contempt, I'll take it from there. The Mastech is a 0-100v power supply, cc or cv. As for winterizing the bike, lol! Maybe b...

Re: Going to charge my 74v lipo's commando style!!!

They're 20s, 8p, unknown chinese lipo's from salvaged bikes. The workmanship on the connections is excellent. They're broken up into 3 packs with 16 4cel units in each of two, and 8 4cel units in a third pack. They have andersons on each end of each pack. I hope the only precaution I take will be th...

Going to charge my 74v lipo's commando style!!!

There's just too much information for my tiny head to do this properly. I've probably read 300 pages of threads over the last few days, and the process has left me feeling stubborn/stupid. I'm in that frigg it state of mind I'm going to take the whole pack: 20s 8p, connect it and put my mastech on i...

You can enjoy the protection you wish by tracking down the dealers and making them "enemies". Everyone can enjoy the website they want.

Thanks for the follow up. My problem was created by ordering some batteries with this, and GoldenMotor can't send them via seafreight, so $680.00 US is the best they can do for shipping.

In spite of what GoldenMotor said earlier here, there doesn't seem to be any point in the "snail mail" option, as I was quoted $700 shipping (in spite of the shipping quote ge...

Chargedbiking/raybenmotors. I bought two kits from raybenmotors. I've been commuting for years with one of them, and the other sits as a spare right now. One worked perfectly, and one was awful. The one that didn't work exhibited exactly the same symptoms you describe, but it did that right out of t...

I have 4 sla's on my regular commuter. They're still working well after 2 1/2 years, but I always run less than 20 amp, and have been careful to charge them at both ends of my commute. Their weight is their biggest problem. On the other hand, I imagine the shock of any would-be bike thief if they tr...

That screw by the "t" in "this" in your picture is part of the system that brings the brake mechanism back out after application. If I understand your problem properly, you need to increase tension on the spring in that part of the system. I don't know your particular brake, but there are usually wa...

Those GT's were good bikes when they were new. Neither of the ones you showed were "department store bikes" I know I used to lust after them, but they were beyond my budget.
