Re: is -30C too cold for LiFePo4 / sla storage

I kept limn batteries out over last winter...I was riding with them last year. I put them on charge after every use, and they seemed to be fine all winter, exposed to -40 rarely, -30 frequently. I also left 48v sla's out all winter connected to a charger constantly, and noticed no degradation in the...

Re: Best battery besides Ping?

You don't have to use paypal or ebay to get a ping battery. You can order directly from ping's website. I think it's pingbattery.com. I was trying to find his email address here on the boards, because it seems to me he may have given members of this site a special price if you email him. I haven't f...

That is really a nice piece of work! Would it work with 2 wheels only if you didn't have the problem of a high center of gravity?

Re: Any1 know of ebay seller wincentling?

p.s.

ebike.ca is a seller with impeccable customer service. Their 36v. battery is limn, and from what I know about them, they're selling it because it works. I have one, and while I don't get the speed of a 48v. setup, I honestly know that I got the best product they could source.

Re: Any1 know of ebay seller wincentling?

Look more deeply into the feedback. Was the feedback specifically for lipo?

I don't trust ebay or paypal anymore, for good reason.

If you look around this site for guidance, you'll do much better than you would on your own.

Re: Headway Group Purchase

Ya, I'm still waiting, sad to say. Poo happens.

I ordered 1 4820, 1 4810, two cases and two chargers.

It was a lot of money that I really can't spare, not to mention the investment in bike parts just sitting in the garage waiting for batteries.

Patiently,

p.s. Rationed care is going to be a necessity. With growth of technology, there are going to be costs that simply don't make sense. It will have to be up to democracy to determine where the lines are drawn.

Re: I'm going to start riding in the middle of the road

As nuts and volts quoted earlier, the Highway Traffic Act here says I have to ride as close as practicable to the right curb. I don't know if anyone actually uses the word practicable, but I am aware of that requirement, and as I ride 4 feet out from the curb, I'm ready with my explanation to the ju...

OMIGOD! Zoot! I thought I was the only one that used the pre-emptory snot rocket or gob to keep traffic approaching from the rear in line. I should have taken out a patent. (Rather get blood on the car than spit) My son was just in a crash on his classic Peugeot this week. Riding legally on what is ...

Re: No respect for bicyclists!

I think the best thing you can do for the lack of respect is to respect the bike when you're in your car. "Monkey see, monkey do sometimes works when following drivers see proper respect for bikes being shown. Otherwise, there's not much else you can really do. If you have someone in your life with ...

Not good and e-zee, Ried. A white suv drove out of it's driveway last week and completely cut me off. I had to break hard, and when I wasn't sure I'd stop in time, I put'er down for a slide. It's great that I didn't slide under, 'cause after causing my crash, they simply pulled away, leaving me on t...

Where I live there is very limited impact on greenhouse gasses, as our overwhelming source of electricity is hydro electric. Further, our hydroelectric supplier is owned by the people of this province, and subject to oversight, so it is relatively cheap. My only doubt regarding it's superiority woul...

God, how I've wrestled with that same problem. I've even thought of using a simple on off switch, except that it would not work at all on some gravel trails on my commute.

Honestly, 90% of the time my throttle is on or off.

As for the canadian tire and wal mart bikes, here in canada there is no $299 bike available. Price at my local wal-mart for the only available electric style was in the high$900s. They could be cool for a neighbourhood ride, but perhaps less useful for commuting. I'm assuming the controller will acc...

My Winter bike was a 36v. ezee kit from ebike.ca, mounted on a decent dual suspension bike with good studded tires front and rear. The ezee kit was well protected from wet conditions during the thaw. I didn't use a torque bar, partly because I advance the throttle slowly in winter. I have moosehorn ...

I wear full face helmets year-round. They're nice and warm in winter, and protective of my face. I've been to numerous bike vs. car accidents. It's my job... It's not the law here, so the majority of those accidents involve bikers with no helmets. You'd be surprised at the number of those who have b...

Keep telling ebay about it, and if it can be demonstrated that ebay knowingly allowed the violations, then document it.
