I see work-crews are universal across the US. One guy doing the work, as a half dozen watch.

Re: Controller hype?

Does anyone know how much current these FET's can handle. I did not count how many my controller has, but it was five or six. When I got this controller, the box looked pretty darn small for being able to handle 1,000 watts at 36 volts. I did add solder to the traces. I figured that is how the circu...

Re: Controller hype?

Well, I added a 14 gauge copper wire to the shunt and it did nothing, even added solder to the board traces. There are two original shunts that look like they are 14 gauge. I guess the IC brain is throttling the the current no matter what size shunt that is added. Time to look for a better controller.

Re: Controller hype?

Yeah,

I'm going to try to add a wire to the shunt. I really don't care if I overload the controller, as I'm ready to throw this one out and get me a higher watt one.

Re: Charger?

I had the PS apart and was looking around and noticed a resistor with a * next to it, all the others were R-something (R1, R2, R3...) I then cut it out and replaced it with different resistors of values of around 20 Ohms. This would cause the output to approach closer to 50 volts, down from the 58 v...

Controller hype?

Are controllers rated correctly? This latest controller I bought was rated for 1,000 watts at 36 volts. The 500 watt controller it replaced had a higher output. The 1,000 watt one wants to throttle the motor at heavy loads. Now I'm looking to replace it, but with what? Do the specifications have any...

Heck, I hate to not use this PS and have to spend money on another. Oh well, I do want a reliable bulk charger for my LiPo though.

Re: Charger?

I pulled the charger apart looking for any pots that I could adjust, I did not find any. The charger looks like one of those cheap Chinese chargers. The pack is LiPo, 12S2P. With my balance charger, the pack charges to 50.4 volts. I was just thinking of adding a resistor in series with the pack, wil...

I have a charger that puts out 58 volts, any simple way of making it work for my 50.4 volt LiPo battery pack?

When is the last time anybody actually seen someone driving a car?

It's more like a distraction to them, to actually drive. It seems more people are doing other things then actually driving. Talking on the phone, texting, kids, eating/drinking, radio...

Re: not sure what to title this, mans gets away with attempt

The bicyclist should have been packing a gun. Instead of pounding on the car, he could of put a few rounds through the windshield. Then the driver would be RIGHT to run him down. Then us bicyclist could have a advertising campaign: "Were not as defenseless as you think, so think again"! How about "...

No wonder the majority does not want to ride bicycles. Who's got our back's, surely not society. It's a car's World out there on the streets. Were relagated to the gutters, when it comes to our share of the road. The bicyclist should have been packing a gun. Instead of pounding on the car, he could ...

People wanting quick, fast, not very practical cars comes down to the human condition. It's what got the human race to this level of life, not wanting just to survive, but looking up at the birds and wanting to fly. Anyone trying to sell something to the average person has got to take this fact into...

Awesome idea and a cool scooter too.

One thing nice about this idea is, if you run out of juice short of a charging station, depending on how far you fall short, you could push the bike the rest of the way there, or carry the battery there and back.

Re: The death of Peak Oil = The death of green energy?

So, I'm watching one of those Extreme RV TV programs. The guy was building a RV out of a Semi. It had every bell and whistle you could cram into it, it even had a garage for a car. What was funny as hell was, the guy though he was "green", because he used reused materials in some places in the RV. S...

Re: GIANT Full E+ 2014 mid-drive mtb ebike

Giant produced the LaFree which I can say has a very reliable drive. The chains, like you guys mentioned, slip much sooner then they would without the extra added power of the motor. From what I have read they have a 400 watt motor, but they also mention that it will peak at 1,000 watts. I turned on...

The point remains that one single person's productivity only makes so much wealth, and to have more than that for yourself means you took someone else's. That can be done fair and square by mutual consent, or it can be otherwise. I suggest that the cult of self-interest that makes your supposedly f...

I wonder if E-bikes will go the way of the moped. Mopeds where regulated out of usefulness, for the very people that saw a advantage to riding one. There is no real reason to use one, using a motorcycle or even a E-bike makes more since. Right now E-bikes have their advantages, the more they regulat...

Own a home, that will keep you busy, the rest of your life, if you let it.

Other then that, I have a fleet a mopeds, dune buggy, hot rod Vega, RV/camping, modified VW bus, tube radios, home theater, gardening for food, three-wheeler, shop, building things instead of buying them
