Re: Worth it to get a “premium” FS bike for ebike build?

The one I found. It is old 2005 . Are the Manitou shocks ok. No place for batteries but is this an ok deal? I am sure it rides better than any bike I have had. I would like something plush for my old bones. Hopefully my questions can help the op of this thread also :) Not enough info. Bike brand an...

Re: Worth it to get a “premium” FS bike for ebike build?

Awesome analogy. I am slowing down. Sometimes ;) I would like to try a midrive . Mostly for the handling/ride. And from an electricians perspective keeping the motor in it's happy place / rpm. Plus I am a tinkerer. "IF" buying on a budget what bikes do you consider decent if changing stuff like fork...

Re: Your Creation's Before & After Pics

Closest thing I had to that was a tour easy clone I built and powered it with a front hub. I built the bike in my avatar a few yrs ago. It is finally going to get some pedals :) and a bottle battery with bms. I ran it on lipos but my son and his buddies puffed a couple those on one ride. So I am tur...

Re: why is my stand stripping the plate that holds apart

It looks like it is about to rip off the frame. I would get a piece of steel about 1/8 inch thick and make it wide enough to drill 8 holes and mount with ubolts. If this won't be too wide and hang up on something. Since the weight is pushing up you "might" get away with riveting or bolting/screwing ...

Awesome, good to hear. My first plugnplay battery. I wanted something I could take camping all weekend. And if someone rode it when it is low it would shut itself off before nuking cells.

Man I have been gone for too long. You guys are echoing my thoughts on stuff. Just ordered a batt from em3ev Glad to hear good about them. I looked at grin. I will have to dig around there and check out this phase ? thing.. I also love my old FSR. I orig. put it on 20 in. wheels I got from YPedal bu...

Updated battery info 33g & questions

Hey guys/gals. Been awhile so I am out of the loop on good batteries for ebike. I want a packaged batt - Maybe one that is removable. I am running a 9 continent on the old FSR . I am going to un-modify :) the shunt for 20-25 amps and thinking going 36 volt. I am getting this to take camping. We neve...

Re: First ebike build, damned uncomfortable

Hate to say it but it sounds like that frame is just too small for you. :| Moving the bottom bracket is not even doable that I know of. A shorter stem would help. I noticed that right away-it is long. Look for a bike that has larger tire/rims. Relacing that hub in a wheel for a truly comfortable bik...

In my contract with AT&T if you go over you get overage charges but we set it up to warn before that happens.

Re: smartphones in US now unlocked, what next?

I would say it depends which carrier has the best coverage in your area. I had an AT&T phone in Western Wash. and it sucked  I picked up a unlocked Verizon and it worked great [ both on Net-10 ] then I switched back to an AT&T unlocked phone when I got back to Ks. Maybe that is why they dropped...

Re: smartphones in US now unlocked, what next?

Yes it will. Mine never quit like some . I only switched because I woke up one morning and had no service. They had a "problem" running my card. I had it set up on a auto refill for 2 yrs. I spent 2 days and countless hours on the phone trying get my number back. I used this number for my business f...

Re: smartphones in US now unlocked, what next?

I first used a smartphone a couple yrs. ago for a job. As soon I started my business I picked up an unlocked phone and put it on Net-10. Since then I am on my fourth phone I think. I dumped Net-10 for AT&T when they "lost" my number. The no contract service is cheap but you get what you pay for. lon...

Good idea Dogman. :) Just load er up on the next BNSF heading west.. I cannot imagine 8-9 ft. of snow. The flooding when it melts will be worse for sure. Our seasons here in Ks. seem to have shifted to snow later in the year instead of in Nov. to the first of the year or Feb. and oh yea 100s of quak...

Re: 26" to 20" differences?

I have 2 -2810 = low speed winding motors . One in 20" and one in 26" If I run the 26 @ 50v and the 20 @ 60 volts they are neck and neck at top speed. The 20 has a nice advantage off the line though. I think they run 24 mph. If my speedo is calibrated right. Mine is in a YPedal Zero rim also. Spokes...

For my sign biz I usually get 1000 LEDs at a time and 10 drivers. I always have to check min. order/larger min. orders get better price. ...

Re: Hacking a Couple Stromer ST1's

That is a nice surprise that it is so clean inside. Starting with the sand in crevices in the batt comp. and the corrosion on the motor and wheels I thought sure you might find some nasties inside. Appears someone road it into the ground/no cleaning till it died.. :?
