Re: Electra Townie build advice

1000 per pack, so 3000 total. I am getting the info from my charger, I charge to 4.15 per cell when it reaches the cutoff it displayed 1000ma put in. I need to get a watt meter or a CA, I stopped several times to check the cells to make sure I didn't pull the voltage too low on the batteries. I gue...

Re: Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells

I just finished my test. First test was at 10A and i got 10185mah on the discharge and the cell got up to 42C or 107F. The second test was 20A and I got 10132mah and the pack got up to 49C or 120F. So in conclusion 2.5C is probably your stopping limit for continuous use. I noticed my lithium batter...

Re: Electra Townie build advice

For reference I went out for a ride on my Townie with my new 12S 16Ah LiPo battery ( http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=63045&start=25#p950448 ). The BPM (running sensorless) makes a lot of racket right at 25.0 mph so I cruised most of the way at around 24 mph. I will probably get...

Re: Electra Townie build advice

Went for a 5 mile ride today to see what my LIPO's can provide.. Average speed was 23mph with several 33mph blasts, man this thing is fun! Anyway, I am running 3 4s 5000Ma Turnigy packs in series for 12s and put 1000Ma back in each one. Not sure if that is good fuel mileage or not but I,m happy wit...

Re: Multistar High Capacity 6S 16000mAh

Did a quick check of the voltage sag at about 20A.

1) (50.33-49.43V)/20.5A = 0.044 Ohms

2) (50.32-49.34V)/21.0A = 0.047 Ohms

Not bad and slightly better than my 36V/15Ah "high C-rate" (10C) Li-ion battery pack from BMSBattery (iirc 0.05 Ohms when new).

Unfortunately they are packed loose in some flimsy boxes then tossed into another flimsy cardboard box with a few air bags. The result is they rattle around and get damaged.

The BMS Battery site advertises: I don't understand the concept of a CONTRLLER in a battery pack? I thought a battery pack had a BMS and a motor had a controller? Thanks They simply house a tiny controller in the rear section of the plate that mounts on the bike downtube. DT_Bat1.jpg You can actual...

When I searched that question i found a bunch of guys say no way (who hadnt tried it) and a bunch of guys who said yes fine (who have tried it) as long as they have the same voltage/charge status when being joined and you keep within the c ratings. I was thinking of running 16ah cells with 10ah on ...

Re: YOUE 250W Geared Motor review

A couple of days ago I moved the YOUE motor/wheel from my flatbar road bike to the bike I ride most often, my Jeep Comanche E-bike. I have been using an E-BikeKit geared motor on this bike however it is a rather fast wind (9.0RPM/V) so it complains a lot up hills as my speed drops to around 14 mph. ...

Re: The little BMSbattery battery that could...

Is it possible that this cheap 48V 10AH BMSbattery battery is putting out 12.39AH after 18 months of use? Seems too good to be true, but the data doesn't lie… I will go back to your original post; the answer is an emphatic NO, there is absolutely no way on earth an 18 month old 48V/10Ah battery can...

I wonder why there are no 5S Multistar packs ? Also very frustrating in that no amount of search options, country changes, etc will bring up the high capacity Multistar packs on the HK site ? ....nothing above a 6S, 8000mAhr shows up on the site, and a "global" search only shows a 4S, 5200mAhr as t...

Nice one. Lacing the spokes that way gives it a nice clean look. I have never thought to do that, I might give it a go on my next wheel. I don't like where you put the controller though, first puddle and it will get drowned, plus you have got all those phase and hall wire twisting all the time. I l...

If you have another brand of battery you could check its capacity and if you get a high number for it that will indicate a problem with your measuring equipment. Manufacturers don't give away capacity, if anything they overstate it.

I would run the discharge test with the inline wattmeter in place the entire time. It's possible that the Amp-hours are being incorrectly calculated.

All 3 of the KU93's I have owned came in close to 22Apeak before I adjusted them. I have also never seen a battery deliver more than rated capacity. Considering your controller current is off 23% and the battery capacity measures high by the same amount I would suspect your CA calibration is off. Yo...
